Maybe so, but the other guy does not have to let him! Wlad used hooks and uppercuts this fight. Povetkin takes a good punch and has great heart. But he could not reach Wlad, who blocked with his arms, and moves with his feet and head outside the range of Povetkin's punches.
Ref should have taken points for holding. But Povetkin had no chance, if Wladimir opened up Povetkin would have been on the ground sooner. Still, ugly ugly fight.
Disgraceful performance by Wladimir. I don't blame him for the grabbing and leaning because the ref permitted it the whole time, but the frustrating thing was that he was effective when he wasn't doing that, landing some nice shots on the inside and bringing out that patented heavy jab. He didn't have to resort to those tactics. He's better than that.
He took a point for pushing off instead. Wlad is so strong at one point he rag dolled Povetkin into the ropes without even gritting his teeth.
I thought I was starting to like Wlad until I saw that ****. When opponents are fighing Wlad's fight on the outside, he can be bearable to watch. When other opponents actually come in the ring with the right gameplan to get inside and attack, he holds excessively and makes what could be an exciting fight terrible.
poor defenseless Sasha being held all night. were they not just bragging on how strong this guy was in the gym with his bench pressing ect? what a little girl getting man handled and roughed up all night. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
