Here Povetkin was on the floor, the first time ever in his professional career. Credit to Wlad.....

Plenty of fighters fight in a similar style and come in low without their opponent having to climb all over their back.

You can step back to create distance, throw an uppercut or side step and use a glove to guide the on rushing opponent past you and turn them around. Fact is Wlad doesn't have the skills or confidence to do this and his first reaction when anyone get's in close is to grab or lean down on an opponent.

Why would he try all the **** your suggesting when he's got a winning method that appears to work for him ?

He might not have the skills to uppercut and spin his opponent, but he appears to be able to utterly destroy the best HW in the world not named Klitschko.

**** fight.if haye had povetkins courage he could trouble wlad.needed a quicker fighter than povetkin to have a go and i think wlad would have problems.

You can also step forward and take away the punch before it is thrown while the opponent is setting up to lunge forward. It is much more difficult and takes much more skill and understanding of the opponent tactics. Wlad did his homework and Povetkin failed to adjust. It is that simple. Your complaints are similar to amateur criticizing chess master's gambit as losing strategy.

I wasn't suggesting Wlad change his style, infact he shouldn't it works for him and nobody at heavyweight has figured a way to beat it.

All I was doing is pointing out that people can't blame Povetkin for how Wlad chose to clinch excessively. Just because a fighter comes in low doesn't mean you have to clinch, their are other options.

Stepping forward and smothering your opponent while a skill is the least difficult of the skills I mentioned and it's not much of a great insight to realise a shorter, inside fighters tactics are going to be to move forward all night.

I was not complaining of Wlad's choice of tactics infact he chose the right tactics. I was simply pointing out Wlad was not forced to clinch, by Povetkin coming in low, Wlad chose to clinch, nothing Povetkin did made Wlad do anything he did not want to do.

Nice, hope Ortiz takes that one so we may see a new contender get a shot.

Yeah, Povetkin forgot the fight was changed to MMgay. He was totally out of his element that the referee allowed Wlad to sap all his energy by pushing his head down and tripping him up. Wlad is a dirty ass fighter and the referee forgot it was a boxing match and not Wrestlemania.
