Yup...Blood, sweat, tears, pain and glory are WHY MOST FANS WATCH BOXING...All of that brings drama...15 rounds increases that and is better for the sport because it's better for the fans.

Boxing should be about the fans, not the boxers health....They are paid a lot of $ and know the risks when they enter a ring

Or how about this - 15 rds for championship fights (or at the very least unification fights) but both fighters have to agree, if one boxer doesnt want the 15 then it should be 12 but the world should know which boxer declined to go the 15, then we would really see who the real fighters are that deserve our ppv money.

Why shouln't they fight till there's a KO, a TKO or a retirement.

That way, we could retire all the judges and get virtually no disputed decisions.

What about to the death? That way we know people aren't taking dives and getting paid off etc.

12 rounds is good by me, anything past that i see slug fests developing which for me isnt as interesting as two boxers being able to go the distance with skill.

    15 rounds was far better

    1. It rewarded the smarter fighter by giving him more time to think.

    2. Too little emphasis is put on endurance in the 12 round fight.

    3. There is no concrete medical proof that 15 rounds is more dangerous. The only real way to protect the health of boxers is to outlaw the sport, changing the number of rounds has not resulted in a decline in ring deaths or in the number of fighters who sadly suffer from punch drunk syndrome.

    4. I've always said if one of the ABCs belts began sanctioning 15 rounds, they would instantly become the legitimate organization in the sport.

it makes me wonder if we still had 15 round fights how many off the past fights gone would have had a the same or different outcome and yes there would def be more stoppages but for instance if calzaghe vs hopkins went 15 rounds or Dela hoya vs Mosley 2 just examples could the loser turn things around given 3 more rounds ,possibly.

I don't need no medical and scientific evidence to know that that one punch is safer than two punches (same power).:patsch

And, who would have wanted 3 more of: Mayweather-Baldomir, KLitschko-Ibragimov, Valuev-Ruiz, Briggs-Ibragimov, all Hopkins fights, etc.

For safety reasons, 12. For boxing reasons, 15. So it should stay at 12 even though 15 meant better fights and more deserving winners.
