Gamboa has great natural ability, but has so many liabilities in his game that he failed to reach his potential. I think he began believing his own hype and was reading his press clippings which stunted his progression at the pro level. Some people over achieve...some meets the expectations and others fall short of what could have been...that is Gamboa. Loma destroys Gam over 8 or 9 rounds before packing it in.
Leftovers? Gary Russell and Nicholas Walters aren't exactly what anyone would called day old chicken dinner. They were both undefeated and dominant in all their fights right up until they met Loma. Tough expectations to exceed when you look at things through that lens. If he beats Rig I assume it won't change your perception.
Rocky Martinez. Sosa, Marriaga. Walters was robbed, shelved and had to lose around 50 pounds. UFC recycled plan.
126lbs juiced up Gamboa (before the doping scandal came to light) still wouldn't be good enough to beat a mid to late 2015 or current version of Loma at 126. He would definintely taste the canvas, like he's used to, isn't 'crafty' enough to repeatedly punch Loma in the balls like Salido did, and being able to survive in the same way in the 12th round onslaught due to lack of balance. Clear UD for Lomachenko.
Gamboa would put hands all over Lomachenko who would be moving all over the ring like he did against Salido. This content is protected Salido’s dirty fighting was not a factor against Gamboa. Gamboa punked Salido throughout the whole fight. Lomachenko’s IQ didn’t help him and he took that L. Loma doesn’t like to get hit. And he doesn’t have fight ending power to keep Gamboa off him. You guys are out of control.
You are comparing a man's performance after only one pro fight to an 18-0 world champion on his 4th defense of the belt... Don't you think you sound a bit silly?
