Besides Robeisy and if GRJ is in prime form, he'd destroy every guy at 126. There isn't a Bivol or Beterbiev at 126 (possibly Robeisy). If I were Inoue I'd stay at 122 and just keep being dominant there. Remember what the fans did to Canelo when he dared to be great and fought a high as **** risk and low reward guy in Bivol who was twice his size.
Remember how dominant Canelo was at 168 he made Callum Smith look like a bum, beat the **** outta BJS and Plant.
hardly 'beat the **** out of BJS' that was a good, close fight that BJS was warming into. It was just starting to get really interesting with BJS starting to suss him out, before that injury causing punch.
At 30, Inoue isn't getting any bigger or faster. That said I would rank him above Wood and under Lopez in the ESPN rankings right now.
He wasn't really THAT dominant. It was close on fan cards when he stopped Saunders and Plant. I think neither of those guys were truly legitimate. Ryder is the first very legitimate fighter he's fought at 168 for their achievements at 168, and Ryder gave him a very tough fight. Also, Bivol is a better boxer than Canelo in a pound for pound sense if you're looking at their skill and not their achievements. He was never going to beat Bivol because he has inferior timing, an inferior guard and doesn't use his reach as well as Bivol. Inoue is a better boxer than everyone I've seen at 126 in terms of timing, using reach and guard. As I keep saying, as I said ahead of Fulton, "Inoue is not Canelo, Fulton is not Bivol". It's the same for 126. None of the guys at 126 are half the boxer Bivol is.
The thing is that Bivol & Beterbiev are better than the current 126 crop, and Fulton is at least as good as anyone Canelo faced at 168 lb. So for Canelo it was not just jumping one more weight division but also fighting better quality opposition at the same time. Another thing is that 168 - 175 is a bigger jump in every possible way than 122-126 (7lb vs 4 lb, 4.2% weight vs 3.2%). I like Robeisy but I don't see him beating Inoue, good as he is. Inoue is too special I think.
