@ 130 Broner Has Looked Beast, I hope he carries himself well to 135.

Again name me one fighter who never struggled in a fight and can name numerous fighters who have and went on to be great and/or champions, so what's your point you're making again, it's boxing **** like the Pdl fight happens to the best, fighters do have bad nights and also get better especially when they are 21-22 years old....

 

Eh its not awful but it looks like he is done a poor Mayweather impression, I wouldn't say its cringe-worthy but its not great either.

I find the Mayweather comparisons quite funny though to be honest.

 

Fair enough I can't disagree with you there but with PDL being the best fighter he has fought it is understandable why I would use that fight to see how he performs at the elite level.

Broner has plenty of time to improve and prove me wrong though.

 

And I can understand your way of thinking sir, we shall see, I'm just being optimistic, really want some new talent and superstars in this sport, oscars gone and Floyd and PAC are on the way out....We can only hope for great fighters campaigning around the same divisions....

 

Crazy? You call that crazy? Marquez would hit Broner at WILL. Broner is easy to hit. His foot work is terrible. Yeah he has that Floyd-esque shoulder roll but defensively he leaves himself very open when on the offense because he's in love with his power. He also doesn't put his punches together at all relying alot on his reflexes and power. This is a guy who's clearly in love with his punch and used to seeing guys wilt. At the higher weight he won't have that luxury. Right now Marquez tools him and possibly stops him late.

 

Bang on the money Scurla, he might utilise the shoulder roll but he's not even remotely as good at it as Floyd. Because of his wide stance he is too stationary and relies too much on his upper body movement. Marquez would take him to school and box his ears off.

 

hell yeah. screw anybody shitting on this match up. should be an interesting mix of styles.

 

His upper body movement is practically non-existent. Bottom line is the guys not a defensive fighter and hardly James Toney or Floyd-esque despite assuming the should roll defence. Broner is very easy to hit. A good counter puncher -insert Marquez here- would punch him in the face at will and routinely.
What Broner does do well is punch hard and stalk his opponents with a variety of hard shots. But because he doesn't put them together he can easily be put out of his rhythm by a solid counter puncher or even a good box puncher who won't let him dictate his pace.
Problem is Broner has many flaws. Right now he's fought NO ONE. The only reason why he's talked about is because of his gimmick and because he apes Floyds style. Neither is a good enough reason to put this kid up there with the best at 35 much less 40. If he thinks he's a stud let him stay at 30 and face Russell. Russell would knock him out real talk.

 

I agree Scurla, he gets waaaaay too much hype because of his stupid gimmick.
