130 lbs - Oscar Vs Floyd

Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by BUMPY KNUCKLES, Apr 28, 2011.

  1. So at 130 lbs where both fighters were undoubtedly faster and had more power p4p than at 154 lbs , when Oscar was hot with his jab and was fresh , and Mayweather could dance about the ring , who wins this fight and how ?

Close fight, I think the better technique & foot movement of Mayweather sees him win a tight fight here if scored correctly.

Mayweather decision. Oscar was better at 140 and would trouble Floyd more there.

oscar would be too drained at this weight to beat pbf at super featherweight. he should never have been at this weight

i think floys wind conclusively. at lightweight it would be a different fight

Oscar was a huge JL and a very fast and explosive puncher at JL, but he was still green.. He was blowing guys out just on his athleticsm, and natural talent... Although ODLH ended up having a very good chin, he was prone to getting dropped at JL.. Part of it inexperience and getting caught when trying to blitz someone out, and i think maybe cutting weight to...... At 130 Mayweather was already a complete fighter.. ODLH would be dangerous early and maybe take a slight lead, but by the mid rounds Mayweather would give the still inexperienced a boxing lesson, probably scoring a kd or hurting ODLH a couple times late in the fight.. Mayweather 116-111.

However ODLH improved shortly after moving up to LW.. I thnk the Molina fight taught him alot, and he seemed to improve and become a well rounded fighter.... At LW i might take ODLH.... . At JW id definitely take ODLH... And a prime ODLH edges Mayweathr at WW too.

Oscar peaked in skills at welter weight and beyond.

His physical talent and advantages were pretty freakish at 135 and 130, but he was green and several steps behind the ability of Mayweather at his best down there.

    He'd be outboxed pretty decisively.

At 147, when he was a true vetted champion, p4p, seasoned and skilled, not to mention with Floyd over his best weight, smaller, and with diminished speed and power, and Oscar utterly destroys him.
