135: Oscar De La Hoya(1995) vs Manny Pacquiao

Would be a great fight, no way to pick a winner decisively. I'd go with ODLH on points if I was forced to. Not because he's a better fighter p4p but because he was never really a 135 lb fighter. It would be like Khan v. Mab, except that ODLH is much more dangerous and much tougher than Khan. V. Manny, he would be much bigger, longer arms, and at that age he could probably just jab and move his way to a points victory. I don't think Manny could stop him, Oscar had an iron chin.

 

To be honest, Ruelas and Leija were far from great boxers, as well as Dias. I'd pick Paquiao in this fight because of his unbeliavable speed.

 

Pacquiao. 10 times out of 10

 

Oscar by KO. Hellacious puncher, incredible jab, quick hands and an iron chin. All we have of Manny from this weight is David Diaz. Oscar with Rivera is outboxing this guy to a wide decision or KOing him late on.

 

Thats a bit much. You should seriously re-think that.

 

Oscar had speed at 135 and power and no catch weight.

 

I think De La Hoya manages to land that short left hook as Manny is coming in, Hoya's physical advantages would be large (sound familiar) especially at lightweight.

 

I'd pick De La Hoya.
At WW, Prime Oscar takes this version of Manny out.

 

All these guys picking Pac by KO should stop watching the sport because they know nothing about it..:deal It's one thing to pick Pac to win but picking him to KO Oscar is ****ing ridiculous.

there was really no one besides valero for him to fight at that time not many big fights at 135

 

Oscar knocks him out cold, ten times out of ten.

 

I think Oscar was still a bit green at lightweight, i think his prime was about three years after that.I pick manny to win but i originally thought he would ko De la hoya, i change my mind about that now. but i still think manny wins by decision.At welterweight id pick de la hoya to win and possibly by stoppage, if John John Molina can give de la hoya a tough fight so can pacquiao

 

A prime Pacquiao knocks 1995 Oscar the **** out. Oscar had only had 17 fights when he fought Ruelas and he'd be fighting Pacquiao at his absolute optimal weight.

Pacquiao destroys him, and everyone would say about Oscar "they pushed him too fast".

All these people picking Oscar make me laugh. Just goes to show how much Pacquiao is underrated.
