Mayweather by close decision. Mosley is bigger and has the physical gifts, but Mayweather is the better boxer, smarter, and adapts better. Mosley's not exactly the smartest guy when it comes to adjusting when a guy is troubling him.
Mosley by TKO. Mosley was a very dangerous fighter for any LW throughout history. PBF was beaten by Castillo at 135 in 1 fight i believe and Mosley would have pressured PBF so much and even one shot would be enough to hurt PBF.
Mosley He was a damn beast at lightweight. He would tag PBF way more than Augustus and Castillo did. Floyd has the defensive capabilities and the mindset the go the rounds though. He would turn ultra defensive after an early Shane onslaught, he probably will give SSM trouble with this approach but will ultimately go down clearly on points.
Mosley hands down! (By decision) I base my decision on the fact that Mayweather got a Split Decision against a 34 year old DLH.
If Mayweather fought Mosley in his first fight moving up, with the hand problems he had at the time when fought Castillo the first time, he would get beat, handily by Shane. Shane had the power and speed to either bully you into a KO or outbox you at 135. However, in a rematch, or if Mayweather took on 2-3 fights at 135 before taking on Mosley, I would go with Mayweather because I think he would adjust to the weight, his hand problems would heal, and he would better adjust to Mosley, especially defensively. Look how decisively he beat Castillo in the rematch. Again I reiterate that in Floyd's first fight at 135, he took on Castillo with hand problems and could not keep JLC from coming forward. In addition, how a fighter handles his first fight at a new weight is always a mystery. Mosley would have an undoubted advantage in that situation.
Mosley was strong, fast, and put punches together A LOT. He had a great body attack as well. I think it would be a great fight, but Shane wins in the end with his pressure and punching.
I know Mayweather is good but a 135lbs Mosley is a different fighter than he is today. He was a very well rounded fighter, I think he would give Mayweather a lot of trouble.
What would you call the Augustus fight? I know it was a non-title fight but he certainly was above the 130 limit against a lightweight. A part time jnr welter even.
Both were very different fighters at 135lbs. Both could knock guys out. be intresting, i think floyd takes it.
