No fibre two days before the fight. And it's not going to do him any harm to dehydrate that last kg off anyway.

cheers for that ill change his breakfast to cut out fibre , he's growing so its just been hard to shift this time , we had to get him to 42kg 6 weeks ago for championships and he ended up suffering energy wise during fights.

Yeah, I find dehydrating a couple of kg (from approx 63 kg) is effortless for me.
Without resorting to exercise, or sauna, hot tub...I simply drink minimal amts of water in the last 24 hrs and it flies off (I don't even have to feel thirsty, just have a few sips instead of a whole glass of water when you feel like it).

A lean diet is good in the long run. But don't eat too lean in the last 24 hrs. I see guys eating salads before fights...wtf??? Eating lean helps manage weight over weeks/months, but will do nothing for you right before a fight.
Personally, I like to eat calorie dense meals on fight day. Heavy carbs, higher fat & calories. That way you can eat smaller (lighter) volume of food, while feeling full and having more energy. You don't fight feeling drained. Hungry on fight day? No problem, have a sugar and fat laden granola bar. Much better than a low calorie salad which provides barely any carbs for energy.

Oh and, minimize salt/salty foods, so he doesn't retain water and it comes off easy.

Good luck. Make sure to update us on how he does.

dont even worry about your weight man your only 13 your body will keep changing. just train hard and fight. if you loose you loose keep at it and your weight will come down close or to what you should be fighting at
