    What they say...

""I'm a big welterweight and I think I can move up and hold 154 pounds with no problem. I think my body can handle it. I just want to win big fights and become undisputed welterweight or (154-pound) champion," Cintron said. "Any guy who tells you he's not in it for the money is lying. The goal is to try to make as much as you can and get out. But I still have a lot in me and a lot of things I want to accomplish." - Kermit Cintron

“Sergio Martinez has been anxious for the opportunity to build on his spectacular knockout win over Alex Bunema on HBO this past October, while Kermit Cintron is riding high again following his recent victory over N’dou. It says a lot about the character of two great professional fighters when Sergio and Kermit are willing to put it all on the line against each other. Both guys want to be the best and neither one will pass up an opportunity to prove it!” - Lou DiBella

This one really could really go either way, both have Knockout power and I for one am very looking forward to this one, Im edging with Cintron at the moment as i feel he is more durable and has thought the better opposition however hes been knocked out twice before, If Martinez can pressure/bully Cintron in the way that Margarito did both times then he will have a great chance either way its a cracking match-up.

    I agree.

The only question mark I have over Martinez is his chin. That is the great leveller in this fight, along with Cintron's power.

If it wasn't, I'd have no hesitation in taking Martinez. He's quick, capable inside, a great bodypuncher, and we know Cintron does NOT like it in there one little bit.

Martinez, I believe, is the best boxer in the world today to not win a world title.
When he came over here and fought Richard Williams the first time, he was very delicate. He looked like a welterweight against a guy who was strong at light middle, when he was hit he was hurt - but even then he managed to get a good win.

In the year between that and the rematch he grew into a complete fighter, strong at the weight, very confident, experienced... The second fight with Williams is one of the best performances I've ever seen. Williams couldn't do anything with him. The improvement in a year was immense.

The time following that, I don't understand the meaningless fights he's been in. I honestly would have given him a really good chance against anybody at light middle in the last 3 years.

Cintron punches hard, and that's about it, that won't beat Martinez. He'll do well to land anything.
Cintron is going to get chewed up and probably stopped late. I should think.

    I'm with you, SN.

Martinez looks impressive in all departments, extremely well-rounded. It is difficult to see a long armed banger reliant on one punch doing much with him. But I suppose Martinez's chin questions and Cintron's power make this interesting. One of two very interesting fights on this card.

Very good fight from a great card. Shame it's not been televised over here.

I'm taking Martinez by UD/ late TKO. Really great boxer with great skills. Apart from his power, Cintron ain't got much else and he's stepping up in weight as well. I think Martinez will box rings round him and we may see the corner throw in the towel late on.

The only way I see Cintron winning is by stoppage. Martinez has a hands down style and if Cintron catches him flush then that could be it for the Argie.

    Great Preview TFFP.

I Think Cintron can win this by TKO, I know there are a lot of people saying Cintron has overrated power but I'm not one of them.
I also think he could carry the power up to 154 making him a wrecking machine up there. So Cintron TKO late.

I''ll take Martinez by decision here.He is the natural JMW,he has reach, better skills, better speed, power is probably on par with Cintron who we don't know at all how he looks like at 154.If the figth is too one-sided Cintron might even get stopped late altough he probably will make it the distance,he has a pretty good chin but untested at 154.
If Martinez goes to the body early he can just jab, move and showboat withhands down and land an occasional straight right in there for 12 rounds. The argentitnian by decision, possible late TKO.

Cintron's power is a little overestimated in terms of who he has actually knocked out. Statistically it looks awesome, but the facts remain he hasn't knocked out a top 10 fighter yet, in any division.

He didn't make an impresson on Margarito, as Mosley did. He made heavy weather of Feliciano, who whilst relatively durable, even Demetrius Hopkins did a more impressive job which is damning. I do believe he has the power, simply because some of his knockouts have been devastating.

He needs to live up to his KO ratio, this is his big chance to do so. If he loses this, people will be wondering if he'll ever win a big fight.

Martinez will dominate... Cintron is so over-rated... I've watched lots of his fights- he can bang but his boxing skill is extremely poor. I've seen Martinez three times and he is always very impressive.
