The thing that annoys me, is that it doesn't look like Manny needs people to come down in weight. Would an extra 2lbs have made all the difference for Cotto, I doubt it. It seems to me like an unnecessary clause when Manny is looking this good. All it really does is give excuses to the beaten opponent's fans and worse, puts an opponent (not Cotto per se, but any opponent) who might not deal well with dropping weight in danger.

Cotto and Pac are both my favorite fighters by far...true warriors and it wouldn't have mattered if it was 145 or 147. Pac doesnt need any catch weight so please pac just stop it.

Cotto was allowed up to 147 for less money. It psyches out his camp having to think about it. "Should I worry about 145 for more money or should I just target 147 for less". Pac would still have fought Cotto even if he weighed 147, no problem. But it gave the other camp something to brood about.

I say stop whining about the weight. That fight was an amazing performance. Leave it at that.

Besides if they signed the contract at 147, what negotiating ability would have been lost with a future Mayweather fight?

141-147 is Welterweight, 147 is just the limit.

Hell! Floyd fans are constantly saying he is a natural 130lb fighter t try big-up his wins at higher weights.....until now that is. nCrazy stuff.

Of course pbf wants 147. do you expect pbf to fight outside his comfort zone?!:nut:lol:

even if your agree it's 145 he'll show up at 147!

    That's P-R-O-F-E-S-S-I-O-N-A-L-I-S-M for pbf! :rofl:D:lol:

So it makes sense to you far a welterweight champion to try and force someone to fight at less then the allowed weight??? And why should Floyd come out of his comfort zone so that Pac can be in his???

At the end of the day the whole weight thing is a distraction, having the other fighter worry about something other then Pac. It wont work with Floyd, he wont bend to what pac wants which is the reason that the fight still isnt likely.
