140 division is pure hype. I dont care what they say

Styles make fights exciting or boring. Devon Alexander has the style to make all fights dull. Nevertheless, the fight was good from a technical standpoint until Devon quit that is. Apart from him all others are pretty good to watch.

 

I agree the division is not great. I think Pac is fighting in a far more dangerous division, against more dangerous opponents. Cotto would have murdered both of these guys, and maybe Khan too (maybe not Khan though, as Khan CAN punch).

Ortiz is definitely a hype machine with probably the best style but no heart (his chin is ok), Maidana has the most heart and power but NO style or speed, Khan has the speed and power but no chin (his heart is ok) and a questionable defense, Bradley is tough as hell but has no power and is very short, Alexander was awful tonight, showing little zeal for actually fighting, not as stacked as it looked, but at least the top guys are fighting each other. Floyd kills all of them at 140, he was stellar there before his slight decrease in mobility at 147, maybe that pre-Floyd Gatti even beats some of them. Kind of sad to see the lameness rise to the top.

 

aramini, you pretty much summed it up for all us. The 140 division is really just pure hype as evident tonight. I don't see anyone in this division who is a full packaged. They all lack a thing or 2. Pacman on the otherhand has heart, power, speed, chin but his defense can be shaky. However, I think it's his way of inviting his opponent to open up.
