Looks pretty good, have mexicans decided if you cant beat them join them and fight southpaw? Nice record too and keeps busy. He needs to get in with a Bailey or Augustus level fighter

going by his size and age, i´d tell the guys at welter to watch out.

that stoppage win over durable clottey looks real good. then again, there is a lot of comp at welter and i guess he still has some proving to do.

i´d like to see him in with someone like cornelius bundrage or miguel angel rodriguez before calling him the real deal.

    but so far so good.

they already said that his next fight should be against a really tough opponent.....clottey is a tough son of a *****, but someone more recognized......

Victor Ortiz was stopped in two rounds by a 16 year old Amir Khan prompting the Americans to almost beg Khan to represent USA at the Olympics as at the time it seemed Britain wouldn't let him compete as he was under 18.

Ortiz was known in British Amateur boxing circles to be very very good. This is not to put down Ortiz but to re-emphasize just how good Amir Khan is

and Amir Khan in the PROS almost got KTFO by what we call in America, a fighter who built his record fighting tomato cans - Willie Limond. Not putting down Khan, just pointing out how different pro's and amateurs are.

In boxing 'almost' isn't good enough!!:D Khan stopped him in the next round

Limond was 28-1 and the Commonwealth Champion. Ok, he wasn't world class, but a decent solid opponent for Khan, who is still not yet 20. Yes, there are differences between Ams and pros and Khan is still learning, but he's a massive talent and was courted by Universum, Arum, and DeLa Hoya before he turned pro. Those guys don't offer mega bucks to just anyone half decent

As an amatuer. This is the pros now and in the pros Kahn would be lucky if he's on his feet by round 2.

Khan has a wet paper chin. From that video there, I'd epect Ortiz to knock him out within 3.

Hopefully Khan's chin will improve, but if they fought now, it wouldn't stand up.

On what basis would you think Ortiz would whoop Khan when Khan has already destroyed Ortiz in two rounds a couple of years ago? Ortiz sounds pretty good, but Khan is on a different level and the best 20year old prospect in world boxing.

Cause Kahn was made for the amatuers and Ortiz is made for the pros. And Ortiz's chin has became alot more solid then Kahn's.

Ortiz would be WAY to strong for Kahn.
