Trinidad is slow to load punches. DLH went in, land combos, naps for split seconds and still managed to get out unscathed. Pac would go in, pepper Tito's face and goes out before Tito even realizes he's been hit. Pac by KO
Yep. :thumbsup Its okay moving laterally against Tito, but if you dont have Hopkins type ring generalship, his robot stalker mode aint easy to negate, the mofo is relentless when he gets in the groove, see both the later stages of DLH, Vargas fights.
:goodRight. Timing beats speed and like you said, if Trinidad found a crafty Whitaker then I'm sure he would find Pacquiao. Trinidad had deadly accuracy at times and he is known for his left hook but his straight right was good too but not as good.
There was a point in the Whitaker fight where Tito adapted, I thought it was pretty good example for all the people who think he was one dimensional, incapable of adapting at all. Whitaker tried to fight in the pocket against him, probably in an effort to get inside his range/power, but everytime Whitaker finished up a combo, he would roll down slide out the side door, but Tito became wise to it and started bringing his uppercut up the middle when he rolled down to try and slip away, cant recall if he got dropped in that scenario, but I thought it as example of how he could! adapt somewhat, although dont get me wrong, im not calling him versatile or anything, he was what he was, but he could adapt to a degree. Tito could bang with either hand imo, he had a viscous left hook to the body to( was it Pendleton?)
The Whitaker fight isn't fresh in my mind but I remember he adapted to vargas aswell. He was getting a little too anxious to finish Vargas and decided to pace himself and not to become over-reliant on his left hook. This happened around the mid rounds I believe. He didn't only have a left hook as his offensive arsenal was pretty solid it's just that he couldn't fight going back and didn't move his head enough. He was quick-footed but far from a mover.
Cotto did land a ton of big left hooks on Pacquiao. Manny's cauliflowered ear could be seen post-fight.
Left hooks aren't the way to beat Pacquiao and I think Roach would tell Manny to stay away from it and fight similar to the way he fought Oscar, but if Tito connects on him, it'll be interesting . So for now, I got Manny by Ud
As long as Tito is using legal handwraps, easy fight for Pacquiao. Trinidad with illegal wraps: 40-0 Trinidad with legal wraps: 2-3
Pac is just better. Any lateral movement threw Tito off his game and he struggled to set himself. Pac by UD
