Maidana has the same problems as what has befallen him before with the likes of Kotelynik, Khan and Alexander. When he faces a guy who has decent boxing ability he loses. Why would they have to retire. Pacquiao can fight Bradley or Marquez again or even Provodnikov. Mayweather can fight the winner of this. :deal

This thread would be much better if you removed the two Junior Welterweights in Garcia and Matthysse and replaced them with guys who have at least fought once at WW, starting with the glaring omission of the guy I very well might pick to beat them all; Robert Guerrero.
I mention why I didn't choose Guerrero in the OP. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if both Garcia and Matthysse next fights are both at Welterweight.
