No doubt, had shane had his foot speed of old cotto would have been in a world of hurt after round 8 when he started to tire and get on his bicycle..
Any one that saw that fight new that cotto's punches had no effect on Shane, based on that fact alone it was not hard to see that cotto was the least durable between Shane, Maragrito , williams and Clotty.. Al four of these guys seem to hold up well to the other fighters punches, cotto on the other hand would always come out the worse for wear fighting any of these guys.. Cotto even sustain grate deal of damage when he fought Zab.

So Im not sure why most of the pac fans are acting as though cotto was the best fighter at welter weight...

Shane isn't gonna do anything for Pacs legacy, give it a rest yesh. Shane is boring now, since Miguel got pounded out by Pac like he was nothing.

Exactly. I always question why would they fight Cotto instead of Shane. Shane had looked great in his last fight with Margerito and was willing to agree to all of their stipulations. Cotto had just suffered a serious beatdown within a year and suffered a bad gash and tough fight with Clottey. And to add injury to insult, insist on a catchweight.

Because they new, if Pac walked forward like he did against Cotto, it would have been lights out.. Shane has a mix style of boxing, he fights with a mexican style aggression with east coast style of boxing. Shane's hands, speed and strength would be too much for pac come forward style. Pac only chance of beating shane is to use the cotto plane, get in get out with out taking too much damaged down the stretch.

I highly doubt pac can box for 12 round, eventually he would go back to what he knows "brawling", and Roach knows that if pac plows forward trying to brawl against Shane, it would be like walking head first into a wood chipper.

Dont forget the right hand. Roach has made sure that Pac has stayed far away from any fighter since Marquez that is a right handed fighter. Hatton, Oscar, and Cotto are all left handed fighters. Also, he has not faced anyone with any kind of hand speed. Of course you can get away with alot of stuff when you have pretty much all the advantages.

Mayweather and probably Mosley are the only 2 boxers that can beat Pacquiao.

I thought it was pretty obvious why they chose Cotto as Pacquiao's opponent instead of Mosley (even willing to drop in weight significantly).

It's true in all honesty. People with this Pac-mania don't want to hear it, but it is very true. He's a good fighter, but there is a reason why I say it is partially a smoke-and-mirrors act w/ Pacman and Roach.

Yes, however, I have been waiting for a honest answer from a Pac fan.

That's something you won't get from any of them. I personally don't have a problem with Pac himself, but trying to reason with a typical Pac fan is not a possibility. I think people have a clouded judgment of him.

I don't see why a person can't point out something like that, even if they are a fan. It's not hating as they claim. He needs to prove himself against a specific type of fighter in my mind. At least to deserve the credit he already gets.

A good number of Pac's fans are fans of Pac, not fans of boxing therefore they speak of which they know nothing about. Most of these so called fans will go back to watching soccer once Pac retires. I take nothing away from Pac, but some of his "hardcore" fans make it impossible to keep a cool head when analyzing the fight. Pac has looked good against mediocre competition. DLH hadn't fought at 147 since 2001 and for some reason he weighed less in his fight with Pac than any of his other fights at 147. Cotto is by no means an elite fighter even before the Margarito fight and Hatton showed that he is too undisciplined to be at the top of the sport ever again.
