Now this was a truly brutal knockout...I think it was Tyson at his best.

There are some good picks on that list, but a lot seem to be there mostly because one of the guys involved is a big name and either they or the fight would be known without the reader having to be an expert in boxing history.

Here are a few picks that I think should probably should be on there. Ike Williams vs Beau Jack:

    (Start at 7:10)

A couple of Duran KOs could be up there, like Lampkin, Moore, (although that wasn't so much a brutal KO as a brutal... everything) but a favorite of mine has always been against Lou Bizzarro. Bizzarro made it out of the 10th round largely because the bell saved him, so from that point Bizzarro just tried to get on his bike, fight completely defensively, and run out the clock. This just served to **** Duran off more and more at having to chase him, and when Duran finally catches up to him in the 14th round it wasn't pretty. Duran knocked him down three times, and the fight could have been stopped after the first, certainly after the second, because Bizzarro got up looking like he didn't know what planet he was on. The ref let it go on, and Duran laid him out with one shot ala Pacquiao-Hatton.

    (Knockdowns start at around 5:40)

Bob Foster vs Mike Quarry. Quarry went in determined to hook with a hooker, and eventually was made to pay for it. With a second left in round 4, Foster catches him with a mammoth left while Quarry is in the middle of throwing a punch and Mike is out before he hits the canvas. Everyone, including Foster thought Mike was seriously hurt, and according to legend Jerry Quarry was ringside screaming "You killed my ****ing brother!" at Foster while they tried to bring Mike around.

(KO at 1:12, replay from better angle at 1:48 )

Dempsey-Willard. Yeah, the KO didn't come in the famous 1st round, but it's Dempsey-Willard. Enough said.

    (Massacre begins at 3:10)

Ruddock-Dokes was pretty nasty. Starts at :30, and Mercante Jr. is a ****ing moron here, as usual.

Tyson vs Marvis Frazier or Michael Johnson might be worth a mention. The Johnson fight is probably Tyson's most brutal one punch ko.

And there are plenty of others too. That's just what I could think of off the top of my head.

Hopkins KO 4 Joe Lipsey: Lipsey never fought again.

Vincent Pettway KO Simon Brown: Brown looked like a newborn baby.

Derrick KO Maurice Harris: Harris got touched.

Roy Jones KO 1 Art Serwano: Serwano's eyes and stuck jaw looked like something out of a horror film. Have you ever seen THE RING?
