Would go right to the wire. Unfortunately,it would n't make very exciting viewing. This would n't be the combatants fault, just two defence oriented boxers clashing here. I find it tough to call a winner.
Tell me about..lol...that's why my first post seems so noncommital..I honestly don't know about this one...
Probably a draw, since this is Jimmy Young, and he would even frustrate Gene Tunney.Neither would gain an advantage over the other for a long period of time, and Tunney would be estastic after the draw is announced.
A joke. Tunney was a relentless boxer always on the attack. Young a great defensive boxer was laid back. So I see tunney winnng a unanimous decision. Tunney could do everything Clay/Ali could do without the B.S. and showmanship... Tunney was just hitting his prime when he married a millionairess and retired...
Nope... I figure Gene wins a decision, but not a shut out. The best Young is good enough to steal enough rounds and make Tunney look bad.
Jimmy Young gets a lot of credit for beating Foreman and Ali (but not getting the decision) but he was not a particularly good fighter. (which may or may not say something about those other two) I used to fall into that trap until I got set straight. Tunney, being smarter and a better fighter, looking to win, not just get by, would beat Jimmy Young up, possibly stop him. Because of his body punching, and being faster and smarter.
