12 round fights compact the fight, meaning more desperation and less pacing, there is the potential for more action because they lay it on the line more for a shorter fight rather than pace themselves for the 13th 14th 15th
13 rounds would be ideal for me ( mainly to minimize draw potential). It's also an in between compromise to the whole 12 or 15 rounds conflict, as it gives us a little bit of both. One more championship round, but not so much that injury potential rises too much.
The more rounds, the more important stamina becomes. I think boxing should be a strength and technique competition and less stamina. I would support even less rounds than 12.
Lower weight fighters who kill themselves making weight end up dying in the last rounds because theyre cerebral membrane fluid has been drained and they have less cushioning for they brain. The physical exhaustion from a fast paced, tough 12 round fight is immense and 15 rounds IS a lil too much.
