That was one of those fights where I felt like the Judges weren't scoring the rounds, instead they just scored the fight as a whole. Tito definitely had the momentum going during the "championship rounds," and it really must've swayed their decisions.

The compubox stats are pretty one sided for Oscar as well. It was a terrible style to employ for the last couple rounds, to just backpedal and move around, but he still did more than enough for the first 7 or 8 rounds to put himself well ahead I thought.

7-5 or 8-4 sounds about right for Oscar.

This was and obvious case of a decision being paid for before the fight ever took place. Tito was Oscars ***** for 8 rounds and that decision is still shady as ****. Just as bad as the Pac - Bradley 1 decision IMO.

Trinidad won the fight fair and square.

That is what I think. I don't think it mattered if Oscar finished just as strong as he was fighting in the first 9 rounds. I mean look, they were still giving trinidad rounds that oscar CLEARLY won during that time. It wouldn't have made a difference had Oscar not got on his bike and continued to basically humiliate Trinidad. Oscar's only way to win that fight was by KO. Don king ensured this ahead of time.

How did Trinidad win the fight? Based on doing what? He was moving forward, yes, but what else?

You know if oscar had of got the decision he deserved, nobody would be talking about it years later like this. Just goes to show you.

I really don't understand how anyone can honestly feel that Trinidad deserved that decision. DeLaHoya easily outboxed Trinidad thru the first 8 rounds, round 9 was close, and DeLaHoya gave away the last 3 rounds. I've watched it several times and really can't see how anyone could give Trinidad 7 out of 12 rounds.

Oscar 9-3. Oscar did have the habit of gassing in the late rounds while Tito usually thrived and got stronger in the later rounds. Tito would of been lucky to get a draw, a win in a fight he clearly lost.

I'm not voting because I haven't rewatched the fight, but years ago I scored it for Oscar and remember thinking that the judges had given it to Tito just because Oscar had smugly given the later rounds away. While I was also annoyed at Oscar's complacence, I thought he had won more rounds overall.

A lot of scribes had Tito winning.
DLH simply fought not to lose instead of fighting to win.

Tito getting the decision was good for boxing!

I was rooting for Trinidad, but AT BEST, he won 3 rounds.
