Don't you think 150/month is a bit outrageous for a mma academy. I know they are highly recognized in my area and is an affiliate of the royce gracie schools... but 150 for either mt, bjj, or crossfit is a lot...
Depends where it is, if its in central NY, then its not criminal because of the crazy expensiveness of the mat space. In the UK its crazy though,
i think its reasonable. i pay 155 a month for straight jiu jitsu. id love the ability to cross train.
I train for free.....but Im a Marine and train on a Marine Base with BJJ Blackbelts and guys who have been in Thailand for years and years. Enlist.
I had a buddy who has a gym and let me train free, but he charged like 150 everyone else a month, unlimited classes I believe. I've since had to move and guys who are not even as good charge more expensive. Anyhow, boxing gyms are the only places that charge decent prices. I don't think it's justified to charge people such a high price for intro courses and maybe some sparring. But yes, also depends on facility costs and how many different experts are in the gym. They also charge expensive for personal lessons. I think it's only justifiable to pay such a price if you are thinking of competing and you have alternative sources of income in the beginning.
Good for you, but what do you mean guys that have been in Thailand for years? Doing what? Drinking, ****in, causing fights in bars? Enlisting, although a good and noble life choice, holds back your training if you train in Thailand.
