Very sad that so many warriors have fallen in the great sport that we all love. It is unfortunate that death and injury go hand in hand with this great sport, but all boxers acknowledge the risks.
there is something special about two men beating the **** out of each other until one of them folds or just colapses an eerie sense of danger with avery punch, the awe that a face first brawler like Margarito inspires, or a power punching dynamo like Pacquiao generates the fact that hey ....................someone can actually die here tonight is priceless !!! no other sport compares, you cant hide your true colors in a boxing ring, here you will be asked questions of yourself that no man should have to answer in front of the viewing public
Whilst 1500 is 1500 too many, the fact is that the percentage of boxers that die as a result of either one bout or a series of them is low compared to other pasttimes.
this is were mr hhascup posted about the 1500 dead boxers classic section page 2 in the thread eastside boxing letter to IBHOf http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186621&page=3
The benefits of the sport of boxing greatly outnumber those that have died lacing up. It brings people together like on this board, it inspires great events, it gives the world great characters, it installs discipline in the young that take it up, and has given many people who would have ended up in prison or dead a chance to do something productive with their lives. Lets face it, no sport is trully global like boxing!!
