Just 3 years ago 154 was very weak and there were few quality fighters. Thus resulting in limited Jermell Charlo unifying the division. Right now the things are completely different. Crawford and Ortiz moved up from 147, other fighters like Madrimov, Bohachuk, Fundora, Tszou established themselves at a higher level, there are also few prospects like Zayats who is just 21. Anyone who unifies the belts in the current division would do it against much better competition than Charlo did.
154 is looking more exciting than ever. Charles Conwell also looked impressive last night and he could potentially be another top guy. Just needs to start stepping up his competition.
