We all know how fat Ruiz was, even @ AJ1. Read a good calc. about him having at least 100lb plus of raw fat, which makes him a real 154. How´d the trimmed version of Ruiz Jr. do against prime Roberto Duran?
I would take any 154 pd Duran under age 33 to beat 283 pd Ruiz much less his right tit. What a useless slob. He is so lucky there are no Frazier/Marciano type body punchers out there. Buut I tell you this, the Bronze Bomber takes Ruiz out with 1 punch. Goodnight fat prince!!!!!!!!
Oh sorry. Duran stops him with body punches in 2. And remember Duran fought at jrmiddleweight way back in 1978, before Ruiz, Hearns, Benitez or Leonard.
There is not a treadmill, not a stationary bicycle, not a stairmaster on this planet that could squeeze Ruiz down to 154. Ruiz would be risking death to attempt even middleweight
One Duran body shot will demolish the gastric bypass surgery that Ruiz would have to undertake to stop gorging like a bulimic pig to get his lard arse under 220 pounds.
I see a Duran v Barkley type fight here tbh, with Roberto takin the fight to his man and proving more skillful. Duran drops Ruiz in the last round with a blistering combo and gets himself a split decision. Ruiz calls out Hagler to come out of retirement and stop hiding!
What do you mean? He should be fine, no? Read estimation. So a trimmed boxer doesn´t have a better functionality than a fat one??
Despite having only one arm and one leg, Ruiz wins by wide UD or late stoppage. This is due to modern training and nutrition.
Are we so focused on weight that where completely overlooked the disparity in skill level? Duran is light yrs ahead of Ruiz in that dept so for me it doesnt matter if he gets down to 154. Duran is in another galaxy skill set wise.
