He brought it up because Ward talked about a 50-50 split in money when he can't sell out his living room, so GGG said how about a 50-50 in weight then
Yep, Ward would have never taken 50-50 even at 168. He's too diva for that. It doesn't matter, he was tied up in courtrooms for a couple years then moved up to 175.
Well that would be true if the fighter requesting the higher catchweight has a fixed absolute ground floor of what they're comfortable fighting at. Golovkin can elect to not go below 160 if he chooses, but you're right, he shouldn't then expect Ward to go below his own minimum comfort zone of 168 (especially considering Ward is now a light heavy and there's no reason to assume he can make even 168 anymore) ...but, ultimately, catchweights are gay. Period.
I think GGG (and everyone else who has had any contact with Ward) knows enough about Wards diva demands not to expect him to do anything outside his comfort zone, being weight, fight location, split, ring size, glove type, A/B side, and level of drug testing. It was Golovkins way of letting Ward know we can all make ludicrous demands to stop a fight from happening
oh look, cissy fruit is quoting himself, now go run along and get on your other alts to come to help you save face :nut
155 = not so relevent anymore. Its mandatory time. Time to face a legitimate Middleweight for the Middleweight title. Or drop it ofcourse. Alverez is the Aside but K2 have given him and GBP way too much time already to earn some money with that belt, they can demand what they want but if K2 dont wana be budged on the weight they wont and if the WBC have an ounce of decency they should back them up on that.
First, the WBC doesn't have an ounce of decency. Not an ounce. Second, it is the WBC who needs Canleo - not the other way around. I don't believe for an instant that the WBC will force Alvarez to honor his mandatory. Certainly NOT so they can then hand their title over to Mr 97k PPVs.
