I will decide after watching a bit more of Ward.

Can I ask is his chin any good?

He has been dropped and hurt. Miranda could KO him, but I think at this level his power is a little overrated even though it's good. I think Ward beats him, but Miranda has a punchers chance and I'm not sold on Wards chin.

    1. As Strike mentions, Ward has been dropped. And not just dropped but buzzed too. I'm not sure if I included it in the quotes, but he mentions how he "came back to win" so it was hardly a slip as some claim. He was hurt. This is worrying for this fight, surely.

    2. Andre Ward thinks he's fought reasonable competition. What do you guys think?

    3. He'll think about Froch as a possible opponent if he wins this.

    4. Miranda says Eastman is the toughest guy he fought, tougher than Pavlik and Abraham and that he does not respect any fighter except Hopkins.

    Thoughts?

Miranda can stop him, but I think Ward will be smart and outbox him. He may have some shaky moments, but he should be able to land enough to hurt Miranda and put him into a shell to a degree.

Wards opp has not been good and question marks remain over his durability. Mirandas opp is much better but he has also lost to 2 of the best 3 names he has fought, but Green is a good win.

I am picking Ward by UD but I'm not confident, I wont be putting money on it and I would not be shocked if Miranda stopped him. It's a tricky one for the prediction league for sure...if Miranda catches him flush and hurts him, he will finish him.
But Ward is by far the more gifted fighter and will land on Miranda at will, he doesn't hit like Abraham or Pavlik, but if he lands enough it is going to slow Miranda down and discourage him from pressing on. If it then ends up at range, Ward walks it.

Agreed. This is a risky fight for Ward. It's finally sink or swim time after fighting some soft opposition. I'm surprised they've gone from that opposition to this sort of puncher. It seems a strange step, not very gradual.

I think this is one of those type of fights we could see a shock. 9/4 on Miranda? There is value for a small bet.

On prediction league I have gone for Ward by stoppage.... another of my out of the blue picks.

Miranda by stoppage might look appetising, I guess around 9/2.... bearing in mind him being 9/4 for a win only?

Well you are hardly going to pick him by decision are you?

50-50... I don't see world class potential in Ward. As in there is something missing. He reminds me a bit of Cotto but he lacks the solidness of the Rican. Miranda is a good fighter but some way short of top world class. I go for Ward on points but never in complete control, just more active and compact.

Might be alone here. But I like Miranda. Seeing this as a fairly straight forward fight for him. My knowledge of Ward is limited but since the fight was announced I thought it was going to be routine for Miranda. Pretty much until I read TFFP's analysis above. I might have to look into Ward more, but for what it's worth...

Not seen much of Ward but from what I have seen of Miranda I would say Ward wins by KO.

Hopefully Brit tv picks the fight up and the winner goes on to fight Froch.

Froch vs Miranda would be another cracking fight and Froch vs Ward would be another boost for Froch over in America.
