    Routine? Have you seen Ward?
He is FAR faster and more skilled than Miranda, decent footwork and wonderfully quick hands, reasonable power and good accuracy. He has a shaky chin, but it's not terrible IMO and if he can avoid a flush bomb from Miranda he would beat him by a wide margin.

Miranda is always a strong starter. He is most dangerous in the early rounds, after that he seems to lose energy really fast because of his physique, and the fact he throws a lot of power punches early. Also opponents begin to work out he only has a right hand. Against Pavlik he was landing more than enough of his own work early, but he was pushed back by the strength of Pavlik which limited his power. But he had success. He had early success in both fights against Abraham. In the first fight he landed many damaging blowns, in the second Abraham's turtle defence stopped everything, yet he still had to remain in a defensive posture for the entirety of the fight.

Nobody has truely shut out Miranda without having to come through some adversity. Ward is going to have to use his athleticism and footwork to its full extent, because judging by his durability so far he will not be able to take much damage.

The interesting thing to see is how it will shape up early. Whether Ward's movement is good enough to keep him out of range. Whether is power enough to get Miranda's attention and stop him crudely wading forward. If the answer to both these questions is yes he will easily win. If not there could be an upset.

Not sure about the result, but I thougght Ward was called "Son of a Gun", not "Son of God"?

I'm picking Ward UD. He has the skills and the speed to out box Miranda fairly comfortably in my opinion. Only problem is that Miranda always has the punchers chance which is made even bigger by the fact that Ward's chin is shaky. However, Miranda is crude and as stated Ward has the skills.

Ward has the skills, speed and footwork. But power has been the key to slowing down and stopping Miranda. Clash of styles here. My thought is as good as Ward may be, he will eventually get tagged and hurt. Miranda will have to be able to stay on him and finish him off. Id like to see a one punch David Banks finish... That'd be sweet!

Unbeaten Athens Olympic medallist with a dodgy chin steps up to fight a Colombian banger. Sounds familiar? :hey

I see Ward winning on points. Like others have said above, he should have too much skill and speed for Miranda. I see the first 6 rounds being very competitive and close but Ward dominating the 2nd half of the fight and maybe even stopping Miranda late.

HOWEVER, if Edison catches Ward early on I see him finishing the job. He will not let Ward off the hook.

im usually a skeptic and tend to bet with dogs more than favorites, but i think i'll be laying the 3 to 1 (a little less -295) and taking ward in the fight, i think that's a good price because miranda has almost no chance (i.e., only a puncher's chance) to win this fight

skills-wise, there is no comparison... size is another important issue... miranda is the smaller man, and has fought most of his major fights at middleweight (or at least below 168)... ward won the gold medal as a 178 lber and moved down as a pro, and is used to being the larger more physically dominant man in the ring... in the center of the ring, it will be a sparring session... along the ropes, ward is under-rated because he has the ability to land very short and hurtful punches on the inside (see his last fight against buchanan) and he is also quite adept at tying up, not letting an opponent work... i don't think stamina will be an issue either

i see almost no chance for miranda to win this fight other than that puncher's chance which i put at around 5%... therefore, ill gladly lay the 3 to 1

Well to beat Miranda you have to have good lateral movement,a jab, fast and accurate punches(or combinations) and the ability to use them constantly.
Ward has all these and uses them pretty constantly with breef moments of slip ups.He was shown these things and even some pop against subpar competition and guys put in there to make him look good.He also can make his opponnet go backward and Miranda doesn't like that. The thing is if he can actually do all this against somebody who will really try to beat him.
Miranda for his part is very dangerous till the middle rounds and always has given his opponnets something to remember him in the early rounds. He has a decent jab but he doesn't use it after 2 rounds or so and it could easily be sliped. He will really test Ward's will at least.Maybe even his chin.Hope the weight ain't a problem for the colombian.
My pick is Ward TKO late but only a draw would surprise me here.
