16 Clinches in 1st round!!!

Is that a special two handed punch that Wlad is throwing there? I mean it almost looks like Wlad is choosing to throw both hands over Mormeck's head and clinch instead of throwing a hook or an uppercut. Obviously this can't be the case though, because the clinching was entirely Mormeck's fault, and Wlad would sooner kill his own mother than clinch.

So, in that clip where Wlad's hands start reaching over Mormeck's head as soon as he flinches - that was ALL Mormeck, and there is nothing Wlad (who has GREAT footwork and is a MASTER at controlling distance) could do to avoid it? :think

That was my interpretation as well. The clinches seem far more initiated by Mormeck. Wlad certainly didn't try to back out of it, which would have been nice for the fans instead of leaning all his weight on Mormeck, but I don't see many of those clinches happening at all w/o Mormeck initiating them with those head down lunges into Wlad's stomach.

Wasn't a long drawn out fight. Ended in a KO. Wlad threw a lot more hooks and strait rights than he has in any fights lately. I'm really not sure where all this new critisism is coming from. If I were to complain about anything Wlad did in this fight, it would actually be leaving his jab out as a range finder and to hold Mormeck away which I believe is illegal.

 

i lasted one round then turned off, always a missmatch, one guy who didnt throw any punches although he ws the challenger,m the other with the most boring style in boxing. Zzzzzz

 

Clinching is legal, holding is not.

Come on. Mormeck was doing his human torpedo at Wlads solar plexus (I sense influence from Ward here). At that point Wlad probably had stopped taking him seriously. Wlad would have placed him in a coma in any case, so whats the big deal?

 

It's no big deal. I'm talking about one particular instance which was shown in the gif, who h Koman was unable to see, apparently.
