Hatton is a swarmer who's short with a small reach, he doesn't have the same strength or physicality at 147.

Clearly Hatton is better suited to being Jr Welterweight, hence that's why he fought most of his career at Jr Welterweight and moved down after looking unimpressive vs Collazo at Welterweight.

How can you not grasp that at all ? Why are you trying to make out Hatton is the same fighter at 147 ? When statistics and his performances at that weight contradict that entirely ?

Its baffling I'm tired of having to explain simple logic I'm done with this conversation it's such a waste of time.

 

Your entire argument is that Hatton is the same guy, but the welterweights were just too big for him. Good.

This means that moving up didn't make him a lesser fighter, and that the weight division shouldn't have mattered against a welterweight that had exactly FOUR fights at or above welter up until that point. Get it now?

Floyd himself was freshly out of 140, having only made a pit stop there, so Hatton actually had much greater experience fighting at 140+.

Floyd was a weight jumper chasing checks, not some physically imposing welterweight. They fought on a level playing field and Floyd beat him.

That's it, man.

If you compare the officiating of Cortez is other fights, even Floyd fights, he did prevent Hatton to work.

I don’t believe this theory btw but Cortez always was a bad ref imo

Still dont think theres been a better build up from the uk perspective since imo.

Could have been intresting if mayweather would have taken the place of tyszu a few years earlier. Fighting in britain with a favourable ref when ricky was fresher at his best weight. Pretty much the only way ricky would have had a chance which pretty much tells you what you need to know.

Ricky was a great fighter made to look worse than he actually was. Left it a little too late getting to america. Mayweather in fairness was a generational talent to boot. Knew when i seen that gatti fight....he was something more than a bit special.

 

OK fight but It wasn't even one of the greatest fights of that year.
