Yeah something like that for licensed amateurs/pros. For the regulars, they still price it a little higher like most other gyms do.
Wow, $160 lol. Find another boxing gym that's $30-$60 and spend the rest of the money on equipment and/or a fitness gym.
It's high, but it's actually normal for a lot of these white-collar "boxing" health clubs sprouting up in major cities that cater to yuppies and more like places to get boxing aerobics classes and Form 101 for women, children, and middle-aged folk just looking to get in shape. Most of them also offer MMA & kickboxing programs and don't have an exclusive focus on the sweet science with a team of dedicated coaches. The dingy old-fashioned (affordable) boxing gym is becoming a scarce find.
I think I'm stupid. I have never charged anybody anything to teach them to fight (unless they had a parent willing to spring for a pint afterwards, while we discussed boxing). I've donated hundreds of hours to facilities, teaching those that could pay, so i could teach those that could not pay and use the facilities. In my mind, it works this way. If you come to me as an overweight office pogue, out of shape and with money, then I'll work with you, teach you to punch and move about. But it will cost. If you are a young kid that wants to learn to fight and has no money, I'll buy your hand wraps and the education is on me.
