Well, he did beat Sugar Ray Robinson once... Robinson was under the WW limit and Lamotta was close to the MW limit but it counts.

I think he would have beat Rocky Graziano by decision.

    Basilio, Zale, Martinez? IDK

Lamotta went 83-19-4 (30) and was only stopped 4 times. The losses were sprinkled pretty evenly throughout his career... not just at the end. Three close wins and a close loss to Fritzie Zivic... who everybody fought and most beat (top fighters) at some point. Wins over Tommy Bell, Holman Williams (who was closing in on 200 fights at this point), two wins, a loss, and a draw vs. Jose Basora, and the win over Marcel Cerdan was big. He lost to Lloyd Marshall, Robinson 5 out of 6 (once by stoppage).

yes. absolute prime, Jake could beat anyone 160 or below. The question should be, "What middleweights could stand up to the pressure and physical stress of fighting La Motta 15 rds" . Arcel said that if you stood up to Jake for 15 rds you were a fighter

Dundee said Graziano wouldn't get out of the 1st rd against Jake. Body punches would destroy him quickly. Jake is no welterweight or an old Zale coming out of the navy. Remember laMotta would feast on punchers and smaller fighters. In a 1983 Boxing Illus. they had Hagler against the all time greats and the 4 guys asked (Jacobs, Arcel, a ketchel expert and Goldburg) had Jake beating Marvin. La Motta was the real deal who dispensed punishment, could take it as well as anyone and was on an opponant scientifically like the black plague. He fought and ko'd guys like Satterfield for gosh sakes as a middleweight. LaMotta was GREAT and most of the by now deceased experts knew it.

I don't like Leonard here, I see a scenario where Jake does a Duran in their first fight. Leonard was a one off at 160lbs.

Satterfied was lighter than Lamotta for that fight and a comparative novice.

Whatever Satterfield's career standing at the time, I wouldn't doubt his power.

    No, only his chin.

Satterfield held LaMotta on even terms in the early rounds, having his best moment in the 4th round, when he "shook LaMotta to his heels" with a right hand. Satterfield did not follow up though, and LaMotta began to take over the bout. In the 6th round, LaMotta chased Satterfield across the ring with a sustained attack. In the 7th, a left to the armpit appeared to stagger LaMotta. Satterfield soon showed signs of weariness, as he dropped his hands, and began to be pounded by LaMotta who landed at will on him. A left hook to the jaw, sent Satterfield to his knees, where he fell on to his back, to be counted out by referee Dave Miller

Satterfield was a party animal he did not train as he should have and ran out of gas against Jake and his iron chin.
