You re****, I've seen GGG in SEVERAL interviews back in late 2013 and early 2014 where him and his team said he wasn't ready. Now stfu ggg ****sucker. You must have just started watching boxing in late 2014.

    English, DO YOU COMPREHEND IT?!
Read that quote yourself, Sanchez had 0 INTENT in matching GGG up with Ward, he clearly wanted GGG to fight guys in his division, which means GGG calling Ward out in 2012, and asking for fights etc is absolutely BULL****. GGG only called Ward out when he had promotional issues.

Fight Hub - "We just want to see you fight again Andre that's all!"

Andre Ward - "Yeah man but its hard to find an opponent who will accept $25,000 to fight me so I can get my $3 million guarantee!"

The difference in this situation, which should be relatively clear to anyone not showing any bias, is that Canelo is the WBC and Lineal MIDDLEWEIGHT Champion. Golovkin has all the other MIDDLEWEIGHT belts. Therefore, any fight between these two MIDDLEWEIGHT champions should happen at MIDDLEWEIGHT. Any other stipulations are just fighters trying to sway the odds in their favour.

As for Golovkin vs Ward - this is a situation wherein a Middleweight was chasing a Super Middleweight for a one-off mega fight. The MW was not looking to move up full time, and so a catch-weight was suggested to make the fight viable, as Golovkin intended to remain a Middleweight for the forseeable future.

Now Ward is a Light-Heavyweight, a fight with a Middleweight becomes less realistic, as they are both making their careers in divisions that are separated further. If Golovkin moves up to Super Middleweight after he has dealt with his business at Middleweight, then maybe a fight between these two can be made under those circumstances.

    It's not rocket science.

If that's the case why was he willing to go up to the full 168 for Chavez Jr and Froch? Also GGG was not chasing Ward in anyway for a fight :lol:.

I saw Andre Ward at the fight this past weekend. I think his knee problem was legitimate and he wasn't faking it. Ward looked like he weighed at minimum 185-190 pounds. Cutting that much weight in 3 weeks with a bum knee would be very hard. Now imagine if he would have fought on the card and didn't make weight? He would have been a laughing stock in the boxing community.

PPV Millions made it a viable risk I suppose?

Look, I'm not into the business of slagging boxers off. Business unfortunately always comes before the side of the sport that we fans want, but the truth is that Golovkin wanted a bigger man in a one off fight at a catch weight - Canelo (who I am a fan of) is a MW who seemingly wants Golovkin at a catch weight to handicap him.

If the Ward vs Golovkin fight as a one off at SMW had been a legit PPV event, I'm sure that Golovkin and his team would've made it as a one off foray into SMW. But that is far from the case, with Golovkin actually being the draw here.

And while we are on the subject - no one is 'ducking' anyone outside of their weight division. It doesn't work like that. GGG is ducking Ward no less than Ward was ducking Kovalev etc etc. Ducking only ever occurs in enforced mandatories, when someone tries to weasel out of a fight that is enforced - and even then I think the fans should reserve judgement.

Ducking is a totally over-used perjorative which fans use to win arguments over hypothetical match ups. Show the fighters some respect. Golovkin, Canelo, and Ward are 3 of the best fighters in boxing right now.

PPV millions? Do you mean he'd get paid millions or that the PPV would do millions LOL. BTW chavez jr has done 500k in his last 2 fights, comparing to wards 400k on BET, Chavez fought on SHOTIME.

You're just coming off as another GGG nutrider. GGG wanted NOTHING to do with Ward, he called him to 164 becuase he knew he couldn't make that weight, Ward has trouble making 168 let alone 164, how blind can you be? GGG calling Ward out to 164 was saying I want nothing to do with you. "The MW was not looking to move up full time, and so a catch-weight was suggested to make the fight viable", this is just a ridiculously dumb statement.

Saying we will only fight at 155 from now on is not the same as picking a hard fight at 164.

Canelo move is more progressive & I support his effort, if I had 1~2 Billion spending $ I would have bought Rigo & Ward contracts of Jay-Z, then pushed for this new boxing world to help Canelo fit it :smoke

    105, 107, 109 (2lb skip)
    112, 115, 118 (3lb skip)
    122, 126, 130 (4lb skip)
    135, 140, 145, 150, 155, 160 (5lb skip)
    167, 175, 185, 200, 220, 245 (progressive surge)
