168 is THE division in boxing right now!

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by MasterCalzaghe, Mar 6, 2008.

  1. No other division has the stable of talent 168 does right now - none. Lets run through the list of talent:

    Kessler
    Bute
    Inkin
    Froch
    Taylor
Bika (Very underated, sledgehammer power & a granite chin, 12 rds with Joe Calzaghe & Lucien Bute)
Miranda (Overated but hey, he has a following :S)
    Pavlik to follow!?!?
(You can include Mundine & Andrade if you like but I wouldn't)

Those are just the names off the top of my head, the names that have not crossed paths yet but have so many possibilities, so much skill and so much career ahead of them. Can anyone name another division with named talent like this that isn't comprised of various boxers fluctuating up & down in weight for special fights?

Time for a little Devil's advocate now :smoke

Now after acknowledging to yourself the pool of talent there consider the fact Joe beats every one of them on top of his current wins - and you can't honestly argue otherwise legitimately - that's how good he is :good Ha Ha Gotcha!

    130-135 is pretty deep.

Pacquiao, Guzman, JMM, Gamboa, Juan Diaz, Barrios, Soto, Anthony Peterson, Casamayor, Santa Cruz, Julio Diaz, Amir Khan, Katsidis.

Very cool, all of these guys except Soto could fight at 135

and whats great is that the matchups are being made.

Welterweight only has Floyd and Cotto but Floyd's not really that active or bothered about the division anymore.

NO right now the welterweight division is best division.
Floyd, Cotto, Quintana, Margarito, Cintron, Berto, Mosely, Zab, Williams, and Oscar. The welterweight division is still the best, by far, in my opinion.

Not by much, Mayweather technically is not a Welter at the moment, so you have Cotto and Mosely and maybe 3 other 'good' fighters, then a load of 2nd croppers.

Then again, Calzaghe is no longr a SMW.
