im not newb ... i just dont care about 168.... all these random match ups are completely irrelevant all these fights go under the radar because the fighters dont take the time to build a base on the lesser channels..they just expect great fights to come out of thin air.... like honestly in the general scheme of things these fights are irrelevant.. there just their to satisfy hard core boxing fans.... nobody is trying to watch these outside of the established boxing fan base and they dont do much to further the fighters value
I might even throw 154 in there too, not necessarily because there are ATGs fighting there, but there are a lot of interesting matchups to be made. But I agree that 135, 140, 147 are great divisions at the moment too.
I don't walk with you on this one. In Montreal, in Germany, in England, we can pack big stadiums more easily than in USA. Boxing is losing ground in USA. You Americans have two choices: to stay narrowminded and boxing dies in USA. Or accept the fact than you are not the only force anymore. You're still the biggest boxing country but you cannot rule everything anymore. Want it or not, that's what's happening.
hbo & show time dont care about the boxing fan base... they just focused on their pockets... until a specific channel dedicated to boxing comes out... or fighting maybe.... all of these are just pipe dreams
You would say that would you? Now explain how ''the general scheme'' of these is irrelevent? And they aren't random noob.
They build a base on lesser channel, in Canada, Germany, England, Australia. I knew you didn't care about 168 because there is no American dominating in that division. That reminds me the Atlanta Olympics games. The 100 meters was won by Canada so suddenly, the 200 meters became the most important distance, because an American was winning this one. Stay in your little world, thinking your country is better than anyother in the world. When it's not the case, pretend it doesn't exist.
Are you a boxing fan or a TV exec? P.S. If all the other top contenders fight each other, they're gonna get the rankings & belts. Then what are the American fighters gonna do?
yes they do and the fighters, in a perfect world without promoters would give it to them. but that doesnt take away the reality of the situation just because this is what you want to see.
lmao no... thats NOT WHATS HAPPENING! thats just how it is man...dont kill the carrier you can claim to be the force all you want but at the end of the day the biggest promoters are in the usa golden boy - arum - dibella - goosen - don king are all located and run their businesses threw the states so if your an up & coming fighter... where & who do you have to go to? the usa.... sorry as long as those guys are alive this will not change.... the best fighters will always have to come to the states the biggest fights will always be pushed to happen in the states (hatton and paq for example which would obviously make more money in the uk) sorry my fellow euro chap... but boxing stays over here for now
stadiums dont make the fighters money.... its the hotels, the casinos, and -wait for it - the PPV that is generated from international live TV sales. euro fighters who dont crack the US market dont have an international fanbase...thats why they can't command big fights. as i keep having to say....i'm not american or even near that side of the world, but if you choose to make it an "us against them" thing then you're not willing to listen to how the financial side of boxing truly works. the only euro fighters who are good enough to get top flight opponents but don't - are the ones that aren't willing to chase that dream. deal with it and stop crying about home grown fighters who say they want top fights but dont make this move.
