My point was these channels broadcast boxing matches to boxing fans presumably. And boxing fans want to watch the best fighters regardless of location.

DOG I DONT THINK USA IS BETTER THAN ANYONE
im telling you how it is....

how come nobody from the states wants to fight euro guys?

you know why? because their all talented fighters!!

but at the same time their completely unknown and 7 times out of 10 when a fighter comes from euro to fight an american there just a club fighter with a bloated record to look good on an american fighters record

    - gary lockett to kelly pavlik
    - the guy andre berto fought from germany that was 50 - 2

no american fighter is going to lose their momentum to a euro fighter with no fan base...

    its not worth the risk
its not worth the money ... sorry to let you know how boxing works

the fights may be really entertaining but they have no stakes involved... one fighter wins and another loses... i can go up the street to warriors seminole casino to watch guys just bash each others face in... but what i want to see is fighters that fight for something

    margarito fight cotto for oscar
    paq fight oscar for hatton/floyd
margarito fight shane for the potential chance to fight floyd & for shanes future
berto fight collazo for the sake of his record
gamboa fight collazo for the sake of his record....
diaz fight jmm for lightweight supremecy

168 is just a bunch of random fights that have nothing on the line... so at the end of the day its really not that important..

thats why i only really pay attention to 130-145
and particular fighters outside of those divisions

haye-pavlik and any situation around them

and dont tell me pavlik is surrounding 168 because its not... everyone on 168 is knocking on pavliks door? why?
    because hes established in america!
and he has momentum ... even with a loss to bhop..

something that none of the euro guys have

im a boxing fan who's smart enough to explain to you why 168 is going nowhere fast unless guys start knocking on doors

they can make it in europe if they are skilled enough but the problem comes when they shine and dominate on that front and then their promoter doesnt want to risk their only cash cow in the states when he can milk him at home.

hatton, calzaghe, kessler.....all three have had to make some sort of choice or compromise in their careers because of this.

I'm Canadian!:p The 168 pounds division is a good division to prove you're wrong. Kessler and Calzaghe didn't need to fight in USA, did they? Bute-Andrade was in Montreal, wasn't it? The way boxing is promoted is changing. That doesn't mean USA is not the center of it, that means it is not the only important country.

Didn't you say ur not interested in 168lb because they're all no-names & therefore the match-ups are irrelevent?
I know "the way things are" but you should at least WANT to see some fairness in boxing based on ability, not wether your a name in the U.S.A. or not.

That's the way the biggest fights work. For all the other fights, that system is not working well. And I'm not crying fighters don't want to come in my country. I would be very happy for example if Bute fights in USA. It's just that if America wants to be the top of the boxing world, they will have to open their minds too. The Taylor-Lacy fight was not a big event, in boxing terms. But only because it was 2 American fighters, it became a big thing? That doesn't work. I know Kessler a bit because he faced a fellow Canadian a couple of years ago. Now I can follow his career, even if he's Danish. I understand the bigger fights need American TV, for the moment. Because if things go on without changes, American TV won't be interested anymore to broadcast boxing.

Thunder what's so bull**** about what I write?

My college friends who don't care about boxing know about
Jermain taylor & kelly pavlik..... These guys have a draw ..

These euro guys have no draw... Inside the states and the only way they would get a draw is if they beat a fighter FROM THE STATES.... That's why promoters are very hesitant to put american guys in ther with euro guys unless the euro guy is equal or bigger in terms of popularity

You obviously can't see the bigger pict
    ure....

The only people who care about fights like this follow boxing on a day to day basis...

and if the majority of boxing fans know the fighters that are involved they will pay for the fight and so the fight will be made.

we covered this last time out....

only needs to have fanbase in the states...doesn't need to be an american fighter..

but you're right about the rest.

Not even mentioning Gamboa and Collazo will never fight what do you mean by irrelevant fights?
Like Taylor vs Lacy wasn't,or Roy vs Calzaghe or Tito vs Roy or a hundred more like those.
These fights are contenders usually fighting contenders.
It's not about caring cuz your american,it's caring cuz your a boxing fan,you can't know what that is though.
