Well, I obviously disagree with that, especially when you look at the level of performance...but we covered that yesterday...you don't care about level of performance, which begs the questions: why do you think so highly of Taylor in the first place - it cannot be because he performed well, so it must be because he got "W"s on boxrec against Hopkins, who got some good "W"s on boxrec...against other top fighters...

I guess that makes Willie Chapman:

    http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=7769&cat=boxer
...one of the best heavyweights of all time, since he beat the great DaVarryl Williamson, who beat the great Mike Mollo, who beat the great Kevin McBride, who beat the great Mike Tyson.

Who knows, maybe this Willie Champman would have actually beaten Lennox Lewis too...:think

    Ahhh...the joys of boxrec...

**** Bute, leave him out of this. I happen to think he's achieved more than Froch and that he's proved to be a better fighter and that he deserves a higher ranking than Froch, EVEN if we assume that he's get beaten by Froch, more likely than not, head-to-head...BUT that is by the by...

...this is about Kessler and how some Froch "fans" have gone overboard with their "enthusiasm" for their man...and have began to totally **** on a much better fighter than Froch could ever dream of being.

    I'll make a poll...since that's something I seem to be good at.:!:

Right now Bute is the top guy at 168.

Kessler beats anyone in the division but his last notable win was more than 2 years ago.

Kessler is becoming irrelevant right now.

    I don't give a **** whose fault it is.

If you don't get in the ring w/ good fighters you start to become irrelevant.

Just ask Sturm and Erdei-unfortunately Kessler is heading down the same path.

Until he fights and beats someone who actually matters a bit then he isn't the top guy in the division.

    Bute-Froch-Kessler for me right now.

Froch should be no.1. Kessler may be a better fighter but what has he seriously done to deserve being no.1

And im not saying its all kesslers fault.

    Kessler

    Bute

    Andrade

    Froch

Balszay (How good is this guy? anyone)

    Bika

    Taylor

    Green

    Inkin

    Pascal

Pending on how Bute performs in his expected rematch with Andrade, i'd probably move him to no.1, should Kessler remain inactive or face another unranked fighter.

Instead of making a new thread about Kessler, i post it here!

Latest news on Kessler is that he will most likely not fight before late august, and it will be a title defence against Gysmyl Perdomo (or how name is spelled) its really really:verysad I dont have anything else to say about this, but Kessler should give WBA their crap belt back with the words : thanks for wasting my time, and giving me more haters than fans! and then he should get hell away from Palle as fast as possible!

If it continure that way, Bute will go past him and so will Froch and Andrade!
even though Kessler still is best fighter in 168.. but he just cant stay #1 that way!

Exactly! Kessler is the best in his division......when he's fighting.

If you keep feasting on 2nd and 3rd tier competition then you shouldn't be considered the top guy in the division anymore.

I think thats why Bute and possibly Froch have passed him now.

They have big wins in the last several months while Kessler hasn't had one in over 2 years.

If he fights this nobody in August then he'll be pushing 3 years by the time he actually beats anyone worth mentioning.

Thats if he fights someone after this Perdomo character.

    Sure.

Bute went life and death and was 2 seconds away from being KOed by a guy Kessler dominated big time and didn't lose more than 2 rounds against, tops, and this fighter is the best win on Bute's resume. Kessler would also beat Bute. Kessler performs at a higher level and has done that for a while. So...he'd beat Bute, he's performing and has performed at a higher level, and he's achieved more...so...he's definitely better.

Same thing goes for Froch. Kessler is No.1, no doubt about it. None.

  13. The thing is though..... Kessler hasn't beaten a top 10 ranked guy for about 2 and half years and doesn't look set to for at least another 6 months which would bring it up to nearly 3 years since he beat Andrade.

How can you rate a guy at no 1 who hasn't beaten anyone since early 07

I would say Kessler at the moment was Number 1
