I just posted this like 2 weeks ago. Not many people were interested. I'm surprised that Chop and Vargas were ever near the same weight; and I never knew Chop went to the Trials.

My god, Vargas is the same guy in this video as always. The haircut, the Mexican flag, the **** attitude... not touching gloves with Corley after the fight.

Still, a good fighter with tons of talent. Sad to see him today fighting at a catchweight of 168 lbs.

it's interesting that vargas was 17 and was an amatuer while oscar and tito were already champions boggles the mind how he in 3 years became top light middlewieght in no time at all.

True, I was thinking the same thing when the commentators mentioned his favorite fighters during the fight. If I was watching the fight at that moment, I would have never guessed that Fernando would go on to fight those guys for belts.

And, as much as ESB loves to hate on him, he rose so quickly because he was a gifted fighter. Had he been brought along differently, he could have been greater.

i have no problem with him but it was how he rose to the top just tooo quick in 3 yeas he was a lightmiddlewieght champion. he had nice power but to be honest there was nothing you could really say was great about the guy.

power: decent but he didnt have an amazing left hook nor a right hand or any other punch i could remember was a power shot

defence: lousy it was just his hands up infront of his face

speed: could throw a fast punch but it was never top notch

chin: alright but he could get hurt and dropped on nothing punches

he was a good fighter but there is nothing which stands out.:think

but true he is underated you dont become a light middlewieght champion that quick and beat the top fighters and ffight the cream of the crop out of nothing.

Thats right, he was young and angry, and it went good with his preasure style.

And he had a good body attack.

There is no doubt his management ruined him by rushing him into a fight with Trinidad at 22 years old.

Indirectly though, he rushed himself by getting into legal trouble, and giving his management the impression that he needed to be cashed out in a big fight before he ended up in the slammer.
