17 year old makes pro debut...watch out for this kid!!!

Jose keeps his hands too low in that sparring session, Gomez couldnt miss with the lead cross. Jose looked better in the 2nd round though when he switched to southpaw, hes looks like a welterweight version of Nonito Donaire just starting.

 

This kid is a Top Rank fighter. It'll be awhile before we see him fight anything with a pulse. However, I'm looking forward to tracking his progress.

 

lets hope GBP dont sign him...it will ruin his career lol. they cant manage a young prospect to save their lives.

Be patient. I find it reallystrange that you open a separate thread for a national champ. You don't do that for olympic champs turning pro, do you.

At this point NOBODY can tell where the kid is going to end up.

The kid looks promsing. Of course he was fighting a dirt bag. But he is only 17y/o. Definately worth keeping an eye on this kid. Tall, smart, speaks english, talented, sounds like a gold mine!

 

I expect to see him in 3 years at about 154lbs

 

I heard he got the better of Khan in sparring, although Khan wasn't far into his camp for the salita fight at the time and wasn't fit.

 

Judging by the sparring I was seeing, I find that hard to believe.

 

This guy looked awsome. But the best part about the night was hearing him talk. He was so calm and poised. Way beyond his years. I don't know what it is about the true greats but they all seem to have a quality wear they just "get it". They always seem to understand how to act like a pro. Like its second nature.
