Nice build, high talent, he'll learn to beat seasoned boxers rather quickly I think, he'll learn to snap that jab with authority instead of pawing. I think he'll have the biggest trouble with opponents that smother him but I think he's got a great future

The kid hits like a middleweight. Scary potential.

    Awful!!!!

When a Fighter has a NATURAL ADVANTAGE, he should be trained to use that advantage.

He's a tall fighter with a very long reach. THE JAB SHOULD BE HIS BEST FRIEND. There is NO WAY that a much smaller fighter (like the guy in blue) should be able walk right in the CLOSE DISTANCE without receiving a face full of jabs and combinations.

Looked like the typical Mexican fighter to me...TAKE 5 PUNCHES JUST TO LAND 3.

his chin hasnt been tested then??? look at khan we didnt know he had a dodgy chin for years because he is so good.
this kid could have one also,we would have to wait until he fought a top class fighter and see.

Speak for yourself there pal, Khan was already labeled as a glass chin fighter before making his pro debut. The Watson fight in the amateurs was really telling.

Well there are a couple of exceptions with this kid. They've pretty much been covered though. As far as olympic champs turning pro, I don't say a word about them if I haven't seen them actually fight. I've actually seen this kid fight. Imagine that.

Well put. I just simply felt like I saw something in this kid that simply distinguishes people like him from the rest. I saw those qualities both in and out of the ring. I am also the type of poster who likes to call my shot, and catch the stars on their way up, rather than state the obvious after already proven.

Hopefully that session is as old as possible. You are right. However, he looked completely different and MUCH more relaxed in his pro debut, if you caught it. Not to mention, his sparring partner is worlds apart from his first professional opponent.

Well it's illegal. This kid was somehow granted permission.

There's the debut. Didn't find anything much out there. Plenty of potential but like every one said, we'll have to wait and see how he develops.

Would do you mean they are both boys Gomez is also 17! He is fights out of the same gym i did as a youngster Hollenback(East La). Gomez beat him in the amatuers and ended up getting second in the world championships only losing to the more experienced Cuban. Both these guys have big futures.

Although the last teenager from the Area who i thought was a Cantmiss Superstar only ended up a unmotived and underachieving Fringe contender. Any Guesses?? Even Ring Magazine pumped this kid up before his 5th fight.
