I take away from tonight's eight rounds of whack-a-mole not that he's feather-fisted, but that Villareal has an absolutely ******ed chin.

Those are some damn pretty combinations coming from a 17-0 TV virgin.

He could become a player. :nod

He looks like he's got some potential- I have to wonder whether sticking at 168's the best place to realize that or if a move up to the more open 175 might work out better for him. I'd never seen him until tonight, but he's one to keep an eye on. :good

I was actually thinking he might look better dropping to 160.

He was pulling his punches a bit though, which is probably part of the reason he couldn't score the KO.

    Are you drunk?

There's already a thread for general discussion of the Showtime card. This one has a pretty specific topic, which you've already shared a pretty odd, vague and unjustified opinion on.

Victor was a tough nut, were you disappointed in the lack of a KO? It's not like he was in there with a can. The guy kept throwing punches back and wasn't totally defensively incompetent. I think you nailed it - he looked like a well-schooled and athletic enough prospect with..just..something missing. Something should be missing with a prospect at his level of development...that's why you wean him off the crap his record's built on with learning experiences like this one against Villareal...

plus if anyone was wondering why he hadn't commited to the right hand, his right hand was injured....wow. great performance, I mean he can throw every punch in the book. Left uppercut to the body and double up a left hook to the head. He even lead with his injured right hand a couple of times. Very skilled boxer, can't wait to see more of him.

Yeah, bearing that in mind especially - and then that he threw it after complaining in his corner...and hard, at that.

I was not impressed. More time is needed.
