I see Holyfield meeting the same fate at the hands of Archie Moore.

Holyfield would not fall for most of those traps. And the shots he will take wont seriously hurt him.

I'm a huge Archie Moore fan but I don't see him hurting Holyfield. Evander was tough as nails and I don't recall anyone ever really hurting outside Riddick Bowe. Toney stopped a very old Holyfield but that mostly due to exhaustion not being hurt.

As a representative of the Rockistas, Holyfield beats Moore chill

if the Mooreistas could lend their support in this troubling time of revisionism id love to see it. The two groups havent been unified on anything for a while now

I for one pick Moore over Holyfield. I think he would frustrate the heck out him. Counter the heck out of him. Idk about any KOs but would be a good fight

Did anyone tell Archie Moore that you can't win if the other guy is bigger than you? I guess not...oh well...maybe next time!

He sure did. Moore was no joke. At 175 he was the total package. Amazing skill, Hit like a truck, smart as hell and tough as nails. I love watching him fight.

You just won't go so far as to say he'd beat peak Holyfield?

It depends on what version of Moore, since before Moore got too old and out of shape in the mid to late 50’s I’d favor him over Holyfield, but even so Holyfield at his best before he started bulking up wouldn’t be an easy fight for Moore.

Correct. I just don't see him beating a prime Holyfield. I could see him beating the older slower version that Toney beat but the prime guy was too strong for him.

I love Archie Moore and consider him to be a top five p4p atg. But I wouldn’t favor him over Evander at Heavyweight. In order to beat Holy in a shootout you needed to have the physical advantage and a significant one at that.

On a side note: Embrell Davidson was a pretty good fighter with an interesting story.

Davidson was stopped 5 times ,once by Marciano's sparring partner Toxie Hall. When he comes in throwing that wide left hook he is as open as a barn door. Holyfield wasn't floored byTyson,Mercer, or Lewis, Moore ain't doing **** to him.
