Certainly doesn’t have to knock him out to win

I think prime for prime he decisions Evander...Evander always had problems with defensive minded tricky fighters (Qawi Byrd Toney). I don’t think he knocks Evander out. Holyfield’s chin was to good.

Evander was not prime for any of those three fights.

True, but can’t really think of many defensive wizards he faced while in prime or at least any on the level of those three.

Myself I can't think of any 174lbs fighters who would beat Holyfield , maybe Langford?

If he were to fight Holyfield I’d think at least above 180. Forget what he was for Baker fight but Baker and Holy were around similar dimensions. Baker lacked Holys chin and power but similar speed and both excellent combo punchers.

But we are discussing the 174lbs version that fought Davidson.

That version was 176 according to boxrec not that two pounds really makes a difference. Yeah not sure how much ten pounds would make or break Archie. I would think against Holyfield who likes to battle for position the ten pounds would help...but I’m not sure it would be the difference. And like u said always the chance Archie could get knocked out but I’d still lean towards a Archie decision based on styles.

With the advent of the CW division, this fight would have never taken place in modern times. It makes you wonder, how a lot of these smaller fighters would have done against these heavies if there were no CW division. If Davidson was in the HW division today, we would think there's no way a 174 pound fighter could hurt him.

After giving it more thought, I think that one could reasonably favor Moore over the 190 pound version of Holyfield (although one could reasonably favor any CW version of Holyfield after Qawi 1 over Moore), I would favor the 200+ version of Holyfield over Moore except the really old versions of Holyfield.
