Great matchup between 2 stylists. After a tentative start by both I see John getting on top with his aggresion and lose head work. Eddie goes into his shell and John boxes his way to a clear decision 8-4.

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, on the night he dismantled Marvin Johnson was a marvel to behold, and it still impresses the hell out of me, but he would be facing an entirely different animal in John Conteh. Conteh, far more mobile, skilled and savvy, wouyld be too busy for Eddie, I'm afraid, and would emerge the winner on points over 12. The scoring would be either 7-5 or 8-4 in favor of Conteh.

I reckon John could outland him, he might even be able to draw him onto some short shots after jabbing with the left. The action would get going faster than the Galindez-Mustaffa one, and because of that Conteh would ship some of his opponents best work, but i still reckon he'd come good here.

Mustafa has the skills to offset Conteh's all-round game, but I see Conteh's way of forcing the fight (with his fantastic jab) and mixing it up with combos....I see him backing Mustafa up towards the end and winning a close decision in a very entertaining fight with just the right amount of battles of wits and trading. I just see Conteh forcing Mustafa to fight at too hard a pace down the stretch.

Mustafa was greatly skilled...his outclassing of Marvin Johnson was nothing short of a masterpiece. His only shortcoming was his occasionlly passive approach..maybe he was just waiting around too much for an opportunity to counter a guy, but at times, he let himself get outhustled, which is what I think would have happened agaisnt a superb fighting machine like John Conteh. Conteh didn't let an injured right hand keep him from dominating Yaqui Lopez..another fight which impressed me no end. Only a truly talented, superb fight..a real champion performs like that..in the face of adversity, and fighting a winning fight with one hand is what a champion is all about.

I like Conteh to edge this one out aswell...They are pretty evenly matched in a lot of ways but I think John could step it up that extra gear when needed to overcome Eddie.

Just about every fight is a toss up so far from what I can gather..going to be an interesting tourney.

I can see John exploiting Eddie's occasional offensive lapses to nab a controversial squeker.

Conteh, utilizing that immaculate jab, on a 12 round decision. Just can't see Mustafa get untracked with it in his face.

Conteh has recently become my favourite fighter of all time so I'm clearly biassed. However, Conteh outworks and out jabs Eddie to take a clear ud. I can see him getting wobbled by some straight rights along the way though.

Eddie had a lot of talent and power but sometimes could just not pull the trigger...John out works Eddie, he is the busier guy in there...Eddie falls behind and can not catch up...Conteh UD
