Without a doubt the most uninspiring of the 1st round matches. Enjoy 12 rounds no reason no vote :good
You're right, this one has dullsville written all over it. Nevertheless, Joey has the jaw to withstand anything Johnson throws his way and the boxing skills to win a very comfortable 12 round decision. Scartissue
Glen Johnson is a good guy and I like him, but he gets outpointed by Joey Maxim. Maxim counters and outboxes his man for a solid 12 round decision. No way Johnson solves this man Maxim.
Maxim counter punches and move well and mixes it up sporadically over an aggressive Johnson to pile up points in a UD
I do think it's winnable for Johnson in a close fight on the night, but the likelihood is that Maxim takes a decision, he'd hold when he had to, counter with short shots when his man comes to him, and land with the jab as well. If Johnson wins it would be more exciting, but i'll take Maxim.
:goodthis. and PLEASE let's move on to the next fight...respect to both fighters but c'mon, this is not making anyone forget hagler/hearns
Maxim grinds it out...Better jab, smarter fighter and as strong if not stronger. I dont think it would be that bad of a fight...It would be pretty physical and rough.
In a slow fight Maxim has a few tricks up his sleeve & pulls this one out. for a close decision victory. Johnson tries, but is unispired by the slow pace & is outslicked in this one.
Maxims superiour skillset and veteran tricks serve him weel in this ad manages to out fox the wily veteran in Johnson who wins rounds on workrate 8-4 Maxim
Hmm. Going against the grain, because Johnson's skill-set is a bit underrated, and I think he could steal rounds by virtue of workrate alone, especially against a fighter that probably isn't going to hurt him as he's coming in. Johnson gets a close decision, and wins a SD12.
