Is the first anniversary of BHop destroying the young 1 dimensional plodder known as Kelly Pavlik. This content is protected I ask you all to don a BHop avatar for 1 day only to commemorate the big occassion. Thank You for reading!
How about Hopkins stay a little more active if he's not going to retire...like maybe against people other than Enrique Ornelas? :!:
Hey give the guy a break! Not many fighters can match his last few years comp, especially considering his age
I will don one to remind the user trac209 how I correctly predicted that Hopkins would embarass him, whereas he told me that Hopkins was definately getting knocked out. I know plenty of others picked Hopkins aswell, I just want to gloat specifically towards trac.
How about Hopkins fighting some version of Pavlik that isn't sick and injured. Any version; just one that belongs in a boxing ring rather than a hospital bed.
Sick or not, Pavlik tried picking on a 44 year old guy and got his ass kicked back to Youngs Town :happy:happy:happy
You are a good poster booradley. I just wish you would let up with the Pavlik stuff once in a while & admit some of his short-comeings. I mean the Super Six thread recently where all you did was rag on Abraham & Saureland was pretty embarrassing, if I am truely honst.
Hey, I'm not the one who promised his mamma he'd retire after beating milkdud. If he wants to remain active, I'd rather he do just that - remain active. Beating up Ornelas isn't going to make him any fresher from a 14-month layoff heading into a Jones rematch. There are just too many built-in excuses if Roy manages to beat him. They should have made this happen in 2009. Pavlik was a great win and all but this is a what have you done for me lately sport. In Hopkins' case? Nada. And by this time next year it'll be more of the same. If he blasts out Ornelas and then shows up in the same form as last October to beat a shot Jones - well, so what? What has he proven? May as well have just kept his promoter's hat on.
Boo, no one forced Pavlik into the ring. If he was sick enough that it might have affected his performance, he owed it to himself to pull out. He didn't pull out - his excuses are irrelevant. They took Hopkins lightly from the second they inked the deal and got their comeuppance. Accept the guy has flaws and these conversations get easier.
I am sick and tired of two things on this forum. 1) The refusal to admit that Hopkins beat a sick and injured version of Pavlik. You can either call Thomas Hauser, two doctors, and a physical therapist liars, or you can admit that BHop's win was not a great win over a prime fighter. There is no third option. 2) Arthur Abraham is the single most over rated fighter on the planet. Look at his resume. The man turned pro in August 2003, and he carried a world title for nearly 4 years, but he has yet to face a Reigning World Champion, or even a recent world titlist.
Not for the hell of it, to lessen the impact on Pavlik's marketability by having a nice excuse for the beatdown he received
