I'm having one of those moments. Y'know, the I used to think this, but after seeing that, I now think this...there are only two ways Pacquiao beats Floyd - corrupt judging, or landing the luckiest punch of the century....

...for the last two years, I maintained the thought that Pac would beat Floyd by making him too concerned with defense to mount a sustained offense, e.g., what ODLH almost did...

...I'll still be rooting for Pac 100%, but I have to state the obvious. Pacquiao would be one of the easiest high-profile fights of Floyd's career. After the 1st, I was smiling, happy with how much Pac improved since '08. After a few rounds however, all I could do is shake my head and think holy ****...not looking good for Pac. Pac went right back to his old ways several times in the fight, showing frustration after JMM picked him off over and over...

...I actually had it a draw, 115-115. 5 rounds apiece, with two even. I was watching is a noisy bar, and couldn't concentrate, but I will watch again next Saturday with the sound down (boxing nerd, I know :D) But even with me scoring it that way, it was/is clear who is who's superior....

...so. Who else is on 180 status regarding Pac-FMJ?

I have always said a Floyd-Pac fight would end in a Mayweather decision.

Always said that Floyd is too skilled, and would phyiscally manouver Pac into position for shots all night.

Before the fight I thought it could go either way, now I don't really see Pac winning tbh. Especially knowing that Floyd is more accurate, faster, bigger and defensively superior to Marquez.

I always thought Floyd would win, and maybe manage to take some sort of stoppage. I've changed my mind about him taking a stoppage, I can't deny how much of warrior and nails as **** ******* Manny is. That being said I think Floyd is a horrible fight for him, and I haven't changed my mind there. Floyd by a wide UD.

I'll add why on earth does turning the sound down make any difference? And why would it make one a boxing nerd? If anything it makes one a boxing newbie who is swayed by the crowd and commentators? Its your eyes that makes the difference, and if you see it land or you see it glance or you see it miss or blocked a crowd roar or commentator ball sucking fest shouldn't make any difference.

I'm willing to eat crow or humble pie or whatever if Manny beats him.

'Completely changed my mind is a bit strong, but the possibility that Pacquiao roughs him up a bit just went through the window. If JMM looked like a midget against Floyd, what will Paquiao look like? May, a faster and taller boxer than JMM, could easily win the outside game like JMM did last night.

The only thing I can see different between what Marquez did and what Mayweather would do is that Marquez was superb on his toes. Always pivoting and taking a step back. Mayweather doesn't seem to do that as much any more, he goes back in straight lines and tends to stand there a bit more. He got put on the ropes a few times against Ortiz, Marquez was rarely put on the ropes against Pacquiao because of his lateral movement.

Other than that I think Mayweather wins like a 9-3 8-4 decision.

Subconscious influence by the commentary. It happens whether you realize it or not.

Watching a match all alone late at night with no sound = nerd.

    I have two thoughts:

Stylistically I favour Pacquiao (if he is at his best) to outwork Mayweather to a controversial decision with momentum going back & forth.

However, if he puts in a lethargic, under-par performance like he did last night he has zero chance of doing that.

Styles make fights, Marquez has shown he has the style to really make it hard for Pacquiao - it remains to be seen how Mayweather & Pacquiao's styles will mesh. So I'm not being swayed either way really. It still seems to me that Mayweather & Pacquiao will need to be at their best to beat the other.

i said before pac would end up walking over mayweather and i can def say i dont think that anymore BUT he still is explosive and can take a punch so i can still see pac winning it its a true 50/50 for me

I don't buy into that man. If I'm judging a fight and the commentators or crowd are going wild over something that is not happening, but what they believe is happening, I will actively talk to the screen of my computer and say "You're wrong" "Bull****" "No chance pal" etc.

For me watching a boxing match with no sound on rings of when I used to watch porn in silent when I lived back at my parents house. The flashbacks are vicious.

I agree, the last time floyd really used his legs was hatton and even then it was mostly with straight come forward guy. PAC comes from many angles.

Marquez showed excellent movement last night. Offsetting pacquiaos angles and lunges.

Regardless, floyd would still take pacquiao to school for 12 rounds.
