Here are the results from the 1890s P4P Survey. I hope I did the results justice in the little presentation. A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL 10 VOLUNTEERS!! @Austinboxing @Rubber Glove Sandwich @McGrain @mattdonnellon @Greg Price99 @Jason Thomas @themostoverrated @BoxingFanOfIranianDescent @Gudetama @Del Boy This content is protected
Genuinely proud to contribute to the work you do Rummy. This is great work you’re doing that will really educate some fans. Very excited to participate in and watch the rest of the survey.
Thanks Del Boy! I'm pretty excited about it, too! Very much looking forward to seeing the complete results for all 13 installments.
Fantastic! Thankyou. Would've loved to have contributed. While I know a thing or two about a thing or two, I would prefer to have a more rounded knowledge of the era in question before throwing in my 2c. . Love the first up. colorized photo of Fitz. If there are fighters who look/looked like they can/could punch, Ruby Robert was IT! The list of contributors and, of course, your own good self, highly recommend the quality of the finished product. We are spoilt.
Thank you Pugguy! I hope to see you perhaps participate in any and all of the decades where you do more feel more comfortable. Would love to have your contributions in the project. And thanks for the kind words of the colorized photo. Not to toot my own horn too loudly, but I've worked hard to improve my skills colorizing old B&W photos. For me, it's all about the quality of the submissions. That's why these things (in my humble opinion) always produce excellemt results. I have full faith in the collective knowledge of the extraordinary regular contributors in the Classic Forum. Without the people who have taken the time to share their knowledge by volunteering, none of this would ever work. Damn fine community of boxing historians over here.
Great vid and props to everyone who contributed, unfortunately I couldn't contribute to 1890s era. As my knowledge on boxers in that era is very limited.
That's OK. You've already made some damn fine contributions on over half of the remaining decades already. I'm certainly no expert on this era. I wouldn't have felt comfortable contributing here, either. In fact, I would have a difficult time doing any of the lists for any of the previous surveys. Ironically, I would always have a tricky time constructing the exact type of lists I am always requesting from others. I'm having a difficult enough time choosing/ordering the Top 5 HW champions from each decade, even where many of the placements are clear cut.
