I believe it was footage from his training in the Douglas fight.

Good question though, they were both in Tokyo.

Then you'll also probably know Tyson said on his documentary that he was in condition physically just not mentally. He also said this week on Larry King that he trained but could've trained hard. But that Douglas fought a great fight and he knew he was in trouble when he couldn't hit him.

yeah ive seen him give props to douglas on several interviews. i just thought that he trained even less than that. i could be mistaken of course.

There's only ever going to be 1 Mike Tyson!
There's been Ali, Mayweather, SRL, Duran,
But nothing compares to the LEGEND that is Mike Tyson...noone has had a bigger impact on boxing than him, i dont care what anyone says, what he's achieved was great and what he could have achieved would have been impecable...

Doesn't mean he could defeat Mike, But we will never know. One thing is for sure. Mike went up to 37-0. Lennox got KO in 2 rounds in his 26th bout.

mike is one of the great enigmas in boxing history. 15 years old and he looked like he could hang w/ most contenders today. its the worst case of "what if" i can think of.

Very true, when tyson KO When tyson KO saverse, he was asked was he ready for Lennox lewis he straight said no he needed more fight before he was ready for a fighter like lewis, and he was right.. Tyson was slow, the foot work was not , the conditioning , he was breathing heavy during that fight.

Lewis knew tyson was not the same fighter he was years prior which he why he took tyson to court to block him from fighting anyone else because they knew there was a chance Tyson would lose, to just about anyone in his current state.

This one reason I lost all respect for Lewis and Stewart, because they pushed for a fight against a fighter that was mentally broken, and was on drugs, and really had no business in the ring with a fighter like lewis at that stage of his career.. A really punk ass move.. Like tommy gun calling out an old rocky balboa .. you know the guys done why call him out. ?

pit, i'll agree that tyson was not the tyson that cus was bringing along nor was he the tyson who was promised while cus was bringing him along...

but tyson was doing his share to get that fight going. the whole "im dempsey, my defense is impregnable, i'll eat his children" stuff...iron mike made his bed.

that being said, the guy in that and similar videos was the likes of which we havent seen since and is not on the horizon. how crazy is it that the kid spinning around in that video throwing shadow punches like a ww was 15 years old?!

and i watch documentaries and old fights, etc but i will admit that im unfamiliar w/ court proceedings...so do tell; what's up with that? what happened?

Have to agree here. So many "what if's" surround a man who had every chance to be the best heavyweight ever.

Mike did what he needed to do and say what he needed to say to sale the fight, the fact that Lennox and stewart new Mike didn't want the fight or else they would not have had to take him to court to get him in the ring.

As you can Imagine Lewis won the court battle and mike was forbidden to make any other fight other than with lewis.. so Mike was not allowed any tune up just into the ring with lewis .. when is the last time you heard a champion suing a contender for a fight? but Lewis did against tyson..
