    Oscar Bonavena
    Ernie Shavers
    Ron Lyle
    Ken Norton

Does he go undefeated or does he drop one? I think he loses to Norton.

I agree with you. I think he would win an SD in rugged Bonavena fight. He would get rocked and maybe dropped by Shavers, but would stop him from 8 to 11. Lyle would give a good fight, but Evander would outjab him to win a decision. Norton might beat him cuz of styles, and although Holy is smaller, he is stronger and has a way better midsection than Ali, so Norton's body punching would have less of an effect on Holy than on Ali, Holmes, or Young. Let's just say if Norton wins, it's a lot tougher than Ali or Young was, maybe even Holmes.

I'd pick the 208-218 pound version of the Holy man to beat Norton, because he'd be stronger than at 187-190 pounds and have a harder punch. I think, though, at 187-190 pounds, Norton could outmuscle him and would probably be the stronger man and his punches would have more of an effect on the smaller version of Holyfield. I think the 215 pound Norton has the edge in strength over 190 pound Holyfield.

The other ones, I think that Holyfields lack of size is made up for by his superior skill and I think he still could crack hard enough to get their attention. However, if the CW Holyfield engages in a brawl with either one, he could see the canvas, especially against Shavers. If he boxes, he clearly wins. Prime heavyweight Holyfield and most versions up until 1998 batters all 3.

He beats all of them. Lyle gives him problems. Norton would probably be the toughest fight because of the clash of styles and Norton having the size advantage over a 190 Holyfield. I’d still give it to Holyfield because I view him as the much better version of Norton, he also has a huge edge in speed.

a 190 pound Holyfield loses to Norton and Lyle and I wouldn't bet on him beating Bonavena. He could outbox Shavers but he could get dynamited.

I'd pick Holyfield to out-slug Bonavena no matter the weight. I'd also imagine that Benton would have Holyfield come in and out vs Lyle, and circle in the meantime. However, Holyfield could completely ignore that advice and just have a tear up with Lyle. Either way I'd pick Holyfield. Holyfield KOs Shavers no matter the weight.

Norton vs Holyfield is a 50/50 without the added weight. I don't know if Holy would get the KO that I think he would as a HW, and I don't know if his higher workrate and quicker hands are enough to combat Norton's superior strength.

Can't agree that Holy's midsection was better than Ali's, William. More toned maybe but no other heavy could take body shots like Ali whereas Evander was actually a bit vulnerable to them. Don't worry about the Toney debacle. Evander was 41. Tyson took him out of the fight for about a minute in the fifth round with one body shot and in his earlier, lighter days his midsection was too waspish to take too much heavyweight firepower. I think of the fighters you list, Norton would actually have the most joy with Holy's midsection, rather than the least. I think the good conditioning is a bit of a smokescreen here. The three fleshier fighters took it better to the ribs imo.

Actually I didn't mean Norton would have the hardest time with attacking Holy's body, I agree, he would do the best. Norton was a fine body puncher and the others were not. You may be right about Holyfield not taking body punishment well, but I really cannot remember too many fights in his prime where he took those kinds of shots. Cooper? Can't think of any others. I don't think Ali was better at taking body shots though. He may have been good at it, but his toughest fights were against body punchers (ala Frazier, Norton)

Loses to Norton and I may even pick Norton to beat any Holyfield but I’m not sure
